They're not there now and I've been running Vista Ultimate 64 for a year now and haven't experienced anything like the horror stories you read about or someone's friend had.
To be honest I had more issues with XP then I did with Vista.

Sorry to dissapoint you,but customers in a repair shop are not "a friend " or some vague person . We never had so much to do as when Vista arrived on the scene . And the problems - despite you not experiencing them- are
still present and new ones have arrived with SP 1 as well. It's also not just issues with driver-support , this is a very common misconception that's out there , but major
stability issues on perfectly fine systems . This has to do with the amount of redundant code in Vista .

If Vista works bad on your comp it could very likely be one of 2 things; 1, your comp doesn't have the requirements "needed", 2, it's new to you and you have no idea how to use it.

I'd agree if these were isolated cases but you can't say that when you see the amount of folks coming to have their system fixed ( and those were PC's with Vista pre-installed in most cases and brand new top-of the line PC's - most of them were put together with Vista in mind ) .
