i'm curious as to how Aion is going to implement dual wielding. from the MMO's i've played, these were the styles i've encountered.

Everquest: each weapon had a delay and they swung independant of each other. each weapon did full weapon damage.

Lineage 2: these were "crafted" dual wield weapons that fit into 1 slot on the character sheet. they looked like dual wielding, but they only had 1 damage value and 1 delay value, though higher than their seperated counterpart.

World of Warcraft: each weapon had a delay and they swung independant of each other. however, there were penalites for dual wielding. accuracy is drastically reduced AND your off-hand weapon has it's weapon damage effectiveness reduced by half.

Aion: ???

almost forgot...

FFXI: the delays of each weapon was combined to become 1 common delay. the weapons did full weapon damage (i think) using the combined delay. So, the weapons just looked like they had the same delay when they swing, even though one was 150 and another was 200. in the damage log, their damage is displayed at the same time.
