I hope they can make single weapon use just as fun and advantagious as dual wielding, as well as small weapons just as effective as large weapons. Hopefully the weapon design will offer valuable function to any weapon combination, be it 2 small daggers, one huge sword, a Halbred, Dual Axes, or even interchangable weapons like a link pole which changes from a pole staff to a chain link weapon. Though it hasn't been pitched in Aion, and maybe woln't be, I always wanted a dynamic Daisho set to be offered as a weapon, where use of a Katana, a Wakisashi, and the Saya could be interchanged, paired, and used singularly with different attacks or combos. It may not be featured in Aion due to it's theme, but I would enjoy if they offered another advanced job for each class, offering a Brawler for Warrior which uses hand to hand combat, as well as small weapons like tonfa, claws and nunchauk, a Samurai for Scout which offers movement infused attacks and dash through combat along with an assortment of katana blades, and some Mage option with a mid ranged whip attack and a fusion of magic and attacking.
Aion definetly doesn't need them to improve, and with the weapon system they are cooking up, they could offer an enjoyable assortment of weapons to existing classes, wile offering new combos and even attack types utilizing different weapons. Perhaps that is better since, further division of capabilities will only make it more difficult to enjoy the features in the game. And they really need to get on giving Templar a single handed spear alternate for the sword too.
