There is no advantage in jumping in any situation, other than trying to climb or jump over an inanimate object. Its all in the head.. "ooh his hit missed becus i jumped at just the right time..." pfft.. not at all relevant. People jump because they want to and/or they think it gives them some sort of advantage...

Kiting with jumping is a habit for players who roll a ranger, who feel it will give them the relevant distance between themselves and their enemy in order to win, whether it be mob or PC... If they die, they put it down to "jumping at the wrong time..", if they succeed,they put it down to "skill"...

its all irrelevant.
