NCsoft thought it was a good idea and spent a year working it DEEP into the game, where now it's a main component and entire areas are designed around "free-flight".
How's that for a history lesson? NCsoft got a great, huge, marketable idea from some probably-American nobodies at E3 and what do English-speaking players get in return? Just a game. Just a game that has been focus-group tested on a bunch of Koreans. No Europeans, no Americans, no Australians, no Filipinos, no Canadians, no South Americans, no South Africans, no Russians, none. We have these "Suggestion Phase" threads, but will the ideas we come up with in them ever actually get implemented by the Aion Team, Studio 5, in Korea?
Nah.
I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist. Someone at NCsoft HQ needs to realize the entire world matters, not just one corner of it.
