Aion does not have Soulshots as you may remember from Lineage II, but there is something with a similar effect - '
Power Shards'. I would just like to make it clear that they are
not the same thing. I haven't experienced the game enough yet to see how this particular mechanic will eventually pan out, but I know that it's being balanced and tested in Korean beta right now.
A Power Shard is a consumable that gives a passive, static attack boost that does
not grow linearly with your ordinary attack output as you level up. In other words, you are probably not going to see it affect combat as much as Soulshots did in Lineage II, and even less so on higher levels. It grants a smaller bonus that can easily be compensated by other things, such as foodstuff. The purpose is pretty much to give players more options in how they choose to play. Subject to Change (TM).
