meh, what would you consider to be a valuable pursuit? Most people watch TV for hours a day, playing a musical instrument is as valuable as playing a musical instrument (i've been playing guitar for 6 years) or something imo...its just more social, make friends, have fun. I talk to people I met over mmo's years ago practically everyday. A mmo is one of the few hobbies that can keep you entertained for hours on end, and have something you are actually putting into it...you are putting nothing into a FPS for example.
