I know my wife is excited about playing Aion because of the landscape and the characters actually look somewhat real. With City of Heroes, she can create her own look and with Guild Wars, the women characters actually look like women.
We also play WoW, but she only likes the female characters of BC... and even that was a little hard for her to get into. You have to feel that the character you are playing could possibly be yourself. Like reading a book... if you can't picture what’s going on as your reading, chances are... you will put the book down.
My wife even goes as far (when she likes her toon) to say "Would'nt you like to see me in THIS?!"
