Yes, there are a good amount of female gamers, and the percent of them has been increasing recently. However, there are still significantly more male gamers, especially in some genres. Unfortunately, I do not have reliable figures to give you on % of females/males playing other MMOs, and it would certainly be impossible to get similar figures on Aion to compare with since it's not out yet. So here we are being stuck with our own personal observations and experiences.

No, it's not discriminatory at all. Take a look at our poll in the Introduction forums here:
What Attracted you to Aion?. You will see that among the 900+ forum members that voted, graphics are the #1 thing that attracted people to this game, and I don't see why it would be any different for females. Graphics are one of the first things that jump out at people for any game, and Aion's tend to catch people's eye.

The point is, is that this subject is similar to many other "lots of girls play *insert MMO here*!" that have been brought up in many other MMO's. Girls/females/women play video games, there's lots that do, there's even more out there that haven't heard of this game yet and are playing MMO's right now. Gaming has become popular, all ages and all walks of life play them! So there's no longer a need to be amazed or analyze the reasons or even exclaim the fact in excitement. That's why those of us who've heard this all before think it's ridiculous.

Well, this is a discussion forum, it's sort of what we do. If people want to discuss why more female gamers might be attracted to Aion, then I see nothing wrong with it.
