I love playing rangers in games, and I love archery in real life. I've shot both compound and recurve bows. Basically, how you can roughly measure what arrow size you need is put the tail with the fletching in the middle of your chest (not the arrow end, hopefully for obvious reasons...) then put both your arms out in front of you, straight with your palms together, like you're getting ready to dive into a pool or something. The arrow should go to the tips of your fingers or a little bit past them. So if you try it right now and imagine holding an arrow like described, you'd be using a pretty long arrow for your arm length.

Then the size and weight of the bow would vary based on your height and arm strength, etc, but that's not important now.
Oh and you NEVER want a shorter arrow, and too long will make you wildly inaccurate. Main reason is when you nock an arrow and draw the string, if the arrow is too short, it'll fall off, and you run the risk of shooting yourself point blank in the hand, or wherever else it gets aimed.
But back to the game...
I don't mind if they don't add strings. There are a lot of clipping issues in WoW with hunter's bows (and rogues/wars who take a bow/crossbow over a throwing weapon) where you're just holding it and the string goes through your character's arm. In real life, strings aren't invisible, actually far from it, but even so, from a distance, they tend to not be so noticeable, compared to the other hardware.
What I WOULD like to see are quivers. Maybe make quivers match the bow you have equipped, or since you have to carry ammo last I heard, maybe make quivers another item to carry, or a separate bag to hold the ammo (like WoW) and the quivers can have stat increases. WoW was boring with quivers, all gave haste % increases based on level of the quiver. Maybe quivers can be like armor and titles and have random stats, but if you like how one quiver looks you can put another quiver's stats on the current quiver model or something. Maybe even be able to dye your quiver.
THAT would be awesome.

Pulling arrows out of thin air is more of an issue for me than invisible bow strings. lol
