agreed with a monitor that size there are a lot more pixels to fill so a card with more memory is a good idea, look for something with 512mb. 8800GT's are selling for under $150 they are dropping to the $100 price range quickly. If you are in the $200 price bracket the 4850 from ati is a very powerful card. if you want to spend even more than that, get a 4870.

You should be good, I might look at getting a new processor if you have the 775 socket, you can get a lot more power for cheap. Same with the graphics card. But only if you are in a spending mood.
you could probably have geeksquad or firedog install a new processor, for you but it'll be cheaper to do it yourself, there are plenty of guides and movies on how to do it yourself. I can give you step by steps if you like too. Graphics cards are pretty simple to do yourself even if you've never done it before you can probably figure it out. Once you get it in XP will take you through the rest.
