I am, played a rogue in Wow for 3 years which wasn't very complicated. It revolved around stuns and pure burst, basically. If you had good damage and managed to keep your foe stunned to some extent, you were likely to win more or less. Now I'm looking forward to more complexity, so that you have to develop tactics and tricks, rather than stunning and mashing your opponent to death.
In Wow I found it very frustrating that my fav class got too simplistic, it was boring, but even so I wanted to be a rogue. Rogue is my type of class, and if it's boring that means either playing a boring class or switching to something that's not me. No one wants that rite?

FTW! So funny to be behind someone while they're completely unaware of your presence, and then you kill them before they can even feel your stings.

Even though I like the sneaky aspect, I have come to enjoy aggressive play style quite much. Rush on and beat as many as possible before you go down, take down one move on, burst out as much damage as you can to burn your enemy's HP fast as possible. I played like that in Wow, it worked well. However like said, I hope we get more complexity. Who knows it might not even be possible for Assassin's, or be very inefficient.
As for tanks, we're kinda the opposite of a tank, sneaky and fragile. If you want to play like that though, I guess what you'll need to do is make your items, gems, build etc more defense based. I always wanted to try that with my rogue, with a complete "defense" build, def items, def gems, def abilities, ultimately that could make quite the tank. We're meant for damage not tanking, and many ppl tell you that if you get aggro or try to tank, but this idea is something which I want to try just for the sake of testing out and see how well it can be done. For fun.
