I'm fine with polearms, besides the assassin is a much higher level than anyone she fights. Different is good, I fail to understand how anyone can complain of increased customization.
Reading the posts it seems that people are upset because Aion assassins don't fit the cookie cutter assassin mold. If you prefer to be the stereotypical assassin that is fine by me. But, being upset since you don't want to be different then no one else should be different, that doesn't sound right. It sounds like I art mightier than though(since I don't believe in a polearm assassin you shouldn't either attitude).
Furthermore on the level difference most korean mmo's I have played make it so that you have a very slim chance of beating another play even 5 levels higher than you. Compared to Age of Conan where a level 70 has a fair chance against a level 80. You have no idea how frustrating it is to be defeated by someone much lower level than you and then have them rub it in your face. I like WoW's golden rule: if you see a skull where their level should be... you run for your life(10 levels).
I think it was a mistake on the part of the assassin making that video because not only causing outrage in non assassin classes I'm surprised that it even causes outrage in assassins themselves. I mean there is no way that anyone of us can know the true cost or benefit of using a polearm. The only thing the video accomplishes is causes majority of the people that watch it to get angry and rant and a few assassins to gawk in amazement. Besides who here pays attention to the players level when watching a video? I know I watch the pretty numbers... but coming to a conclusion solely based on that is just plain wrong.
