If you want a very strong marketing hit, release a character generator before launch so people can play around with character design options. Western MMOs can't compete with a solid, diverse character customization setup like Aion's already got. It's one of the BIG things missing from nearly every major western MMO. |
CoH anyone? Not that I'm promoting the game or anything on purpose but they do have a pretty wide range of customization you can do to a toon. Whether it's as expansive as Aion have yet to be determined. Speaking of which, is it just me or is the amount of hairstyles very limited? Maybe it's just what people think are cool or whatnot, but there seems to be only a few out there.
I also had to tell my friends about Aion and show them the recent videos of gameplay because they haven't heard of it either. I do wonder if there will be commercials though
