I've played the game and I have to say, it's not too bad. I have one of every class ( exempting werebeast ) around lvl. 15 - 20. I still have my character creation files if anybody wants them ( I've received a lot of compliments about how great my characters look ) and I think I was on Delphi.

I say was because I stopped playing, again, not because it was bad, but because I just left. To tell the truth, I'm a rather odd MMO player. It's like deep down, I secretly loathe MMOs and therefore, I loathe the fact that I play them so if for whatever reason I end up not logging into whatever MMO for a few days, well chances are, I won't be able to find the willpower to log back in and I end up taking an extended break or I just never return. For this reason, I took extended breaks from WoW half a dozen times, quit Granado Espada, quit Perfect World, quit Rappelz and now, I've pretty much quit AoC ( I stopped playing AoC because I went home for about a week, and therefore, I didn't have my AoC capable computer with me and now, I just don't want to log back in ). There's more games than I can think of that have end up forgotten due to the same exact reason ( Sims, Oblivion ).

Anyway, here's the kicker, what I really wanted to say, and what you had to wade through that random segway to get to read: if you think the graphics for Perfect World are impressive... well... this game has been around since WoW has been released. So while the graphics are definitely outdated, they are impressive still, to say the least ( if you ignore the generally shoddy textures ).

If you do play on the MY servers, watch out for the hilarious world chat drama ( that never ceases to amuse me, especially since you have to pay actual money just to use world chat ).

Also, the economy is... not ideal for new players. Prices are expensive due to well established guilds and players having already been in existence for so long and while the levels might not be too extreme a grind, getting high level equipment is an extreme grind. Far worse than WoW.

If you've played D2, it's kind of like D2 where items can have variable properties and a variable number of sockets. Except all the best equipment in the game is crafted and to get the crafting materials, you have to acquire these things called molders or something that are super rare random drops ( this is kind of like the base material like a breastplate with no properties or something ) and these rare gems that only drop from bosses ( appropriately called crystals, luckily it appears bosses are guaranteed to drop a number of these ). Once you've acquired all the required materials, you have to actually craft the item. This is of course the scary part as you might get gipped with minimal sockets and the minimal value for the variable stats or you might get lucky and get the max sockets and max stats. So getting uber gear is difficult, extremely luck based ( and therefore extremely frustrating... I hate luck based **** ) and requires tons of farming.

You can unsocket an item like in D2, but the gems are destroyed. You can also upgrade items like in most other Asian MMOs ( with +1, +2, etc ), but I think this process is not only expensive, but after the freebie upgrades ( up to +4 I think ), subsequent upgrades have a chance to destroy your item. Which really, really, really sucks.
