I think that the 3 tier ranking will suffice for now. I imagine that similar to l2, there will be large scale updates which could change the guild system completely. In response to your comment, i think that WOW's implementation of the ingame functions has set the standard for a lot of the newer mmo's. However the content is just a rip off of previous mmorpg attempts.
