New setup!

Since 2002 I've been using a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz comp with a 10 year old 17" CRT monitor and 10 year old speakers. But finally I've gotten myself to upgrade, so without further adieu, here are the specs!

Q9450
You all know what it is, and looking around here at everyone's builds, they've gone with the Q9450 too. Although I haven't had a chance to max it out so far, I'm averaging 4-5% CPU usage doing things that would normally have lagged my old computer to death.

OCZ 4GB Platinum ram (2GBx2)
I'm running vista ultimate to put my ram to good use, and so far haven't had any problems. Sitting at 51% usage right now, no lag whatsoever.

ASUS P5Q Deluxe
Friend recommended me this mobo, and it's got everything I need. No complaints here.

Western Digital 250GB SATA II hdd
Using this as my OS/programs hdd. Finally able to keep all these apps/games installed without worrying about harddrive space ^^ I was planning on doing a 10k raptor setup for the OS only, but I cut back on that to save money (for a lcd tv!)

WD 320GB SATA II x2 (Super Speed mode via Asus Drive Xpert utility)
What I think this utility is doing is just a raid 0 setup. It'll only work for 2 specific sata ports, and the effects are just like raid.

Sapphire Radeon HD4850
Why did I go with the 4850 and not with the 4870? Couple of reasons; was running short on cash, and secondly, this entire setup was a little restrained in order to conserve money for a possible TV in the future. (PS3 needs one, bad) Plus, I'm perfectly happy with the 4850, especially for its price.

Coolermaster Real Power Pro 650W
Something I wont' cheapen on though is the PSU. I'm not too knowledgeable about voltage values, but it's been a highly recommended power supply unit and it's wattage is perfect for my setup.

NZXT Hush case (Black)
I wanted to buy this case since last year. And now I finally have it ^^ Paint job is really nice, sleek black design with blue LEDs. I love it so, so much <3

Logitech X-540
5.1 surround sound speakers - not too expensive, since I've stuck with onboard sound ($$$ saved) Still need to reposition my subwoofer/rear speakers in this room though.

Samsung 2253LW
Big upgrade from my 10 year old CRT monitor, no? Looks great, easy to setup on its mount. Runs awesome.

Logitech G15 Keyboard
Okay so much for saving money. Looks pretty at least. ><"

Logitech G5 (2007 edition) mouse
...pretty much same as above. Weights are cool I suppose. haha.

So that's my setup in a nutshell. Cost me about $1950 AUD total (few extra parts that weren't worth mentioning added up to the total price) Some of my friends who have also bought new comps recently have bought next gen pcs for only $1200 AUD which run absolutely great, so just ask away if you'd like to know what it is. Any questions feel free to ask of course.

Off to play with it a little more ^^
