Boot up your Windows installation disk and choose repair. See if all your files are still there. If so, it's probably just a matter of fixing the MBR. Could be a disk failure. Could be that the MBR got wiped, either by accident or by a virus. Could be that the BIOS disk access mode was changed (LBA). Could also be that the disk failed. Make sure you don't have a bad floppy disk inserted. I'd boot Knoppix and poke around to see what's up personally, but that's just me. Too tired to post a full explanation. Start with the Windows repair and go from there.
