well, it was definitely touched on (the dual system setting) in the most recent developer movies... personally, i think individual shops are a bust... they are an ineficient means of selling (or finding) goods, and not only cause a strain (lag) in areas where hundreds of people setup shop, but create an eyesore...
i will steer clear of them, and will stick with the thankfully present Auction House system...
