Pre-orders do not start until the 9th, while the next event is scheduled for the 5-7th.
In other words - they will not work for this coming one, but for any one thereafter. 
We will however look into this and make sure that anyone who is able to get hold of a pre-order key before the 9th gets access and isn't left without something to do over the weekend.
Edit: I'm looking into this to see if I can get it straight.
Edit 2: Edited first answer to be correct. Pre-order keys will be valid only for beta events after the 9th of June.
Edit 3: I just received new word - we will make sure that these keys are functional for the test next weekend if you should get a hold of one.
