From what I read, Jesse knew that he was about to die. There was something in the scene that sort of made me think the same thing. Even my husband thought he knew what was coming.

I was also saw on tv that Jesse James (tv reality star) is the real life descendant of the real Jesse James. Don't know if that's really true or not.

On a side note, this isn't about the movie but Robert Duvall is also the real life descendant of General Robert E. Lee.
Yeah like I said in the documentary they made all said that Jesse was being ****y. Beforehand they all said that Jesse was very much in love with his own legend. As it became more difficult (in his later years) to find partners to ride with he started surrounding himself with people like the Ford boys who were also pretty smitten with his legend and were basically *** kissing yes men. I definitely think he was a tortured fellow. Had his share of demons and problems and was ready to pass on.

They questioned why he liked Bob (or at least kept him around) and from the movies depiciton I thought he really got off on torturing him. Everytime he'd make love to Jesse, Jesse would say something to totally wipe the smile off Bob's face. I think he really got hard playing with his emotions like that.

Funny you mention that he may be an actual descendent because there is a picture of a young Jesse James and I looked at it and I thought to myself, 'Wow does that look a lot like motorcycle turd Jesse James."

I have the book written by Yeatman which is supposed to be a pretty complete history of both Frank and Jesse. Reading it now to get a better insight on their lives.

If they were to make a movie about Jesse's time in the Civil War they'd sell a lot of tickets. Lots of action and would let audiences see where he came from.

As for Duvall, I can see that.
