No, you're just making stuff up. The developers have said players can focus on PvPvE or PvE. They didn't want anyone to have to play PvP if they didn't enjoy it: per: Liv.

The review makes some good points, but also some trivial ones - the swimming, honestly, that isn't really worth complaining about. I'm sure it'll get patched in as some stage.
The endgame instance he doubts will ever get added are already being added, in fact, we launch with 1.5 which adds new PvE content, 3 or 4 PvE instances and 1 PvPvE instance.
The linear aspect.. yeah I'm starting to see that actually, and the factions are pigeonholed.. you can't freely roam into an other faction's area.. which may make the game feel small after a few months at endgame.
The talent system - yeah that's a critical error, and one many of us that are enjoying AION now will probably leave for later as we're approached with newer titles with deeper build customisation unless NC Soft really overhaul and develop the Stigma system.
