YES! I was hoping the elementals would work like this (it's true! go back and look, I swear). I was wrong about fire and wind, unfortunately (I figured fire would be AoE damage and wind single, rather than ranged/melee attacks, but I did know they'd both be damage), but I'm still very pleased. Basically this means that the summoner is going to be a sort of jack of all trades, master of none class. He'll be able to fill whatever role the party needs in a given situation (if a boss fight needs more healing, whip out the water elemental, need an offtank? whip out the earth). Definitely opens up a lot of possibilities in a group setting.
Oh yah, and I like the name, too. Really looking forward to hearing more official names so we can stop correcting people with the generic ones
