In in the courtyard of the fortress

The courtyard was bustling with activity. A group of new recruits was scanning the piles of Balaur to finish off any would-be survivors. Still others were gathering up the wounded guards and taking them over to the clerics tent that had been hastily erected in the south corner. Others were perched high at their posts scanning the horizon for even the slightest hint of a second wave.

Gahr turned to Knite, "Their getting more organized." he said in a serious tone. "Each encounter with the Balaur is getting more difficult and there is only so much that you and I can do. Many of these recruits are not ready to join us in the field and we were lucky to get back here this time to protect the fortress."

Gahr looked straight into knite's eyes and he could see that knite agreed. "You and I kill a few hundered of them and they just keep coming. I think it's time we started aiming higher in their ranks."
