Thanks for sharing this info. It's very close to what I personally experience playing the Korean Release.

On the subject of less complaining in Tempelar and Cleric sections, they are not the most played classes -> so less people to complain AND they are generally welcome in any group being the Tank and Healer (even if it was only for the historical grown logic that says there's no good party without them) -> so why would they (we) complain . I'm playing a Cleric yes.

Once again, good interpretation of the translations.

It takes time to master a new game and classes that plays a little differently than in other mmo's. Give it a year and you will start seeing the class guides for umber pwnage toons for every class.

And remember the Dev's said from the begining that class balancing will come last, or try to get it as close as possible.
You can never have true balance unless you are a monk or buddha himself

Nothing strange, people always like to cry about their class, unless it totally rule. But it is really sad about spiritmasters, if they can't fight in air, what a point to play a spiritmaster then? They will always get killed by rangers and sorcerers who will shot them from air... As someone said they should get flying pets or some skills to drop and keep oponents on ground.

Good read. From the looks of it I would have to say SM need serious help. I haven't heard one majorly good thing about them in any translation.

I guess Gladiator and Cleric duo would be OP in PvE since you have heals and an array of AoEs on a heavy armored class.

Yes that's true, I do it often with two of my friends in Korean Release and it's quite fun. OP I don't know, it's just a good tactic. Here is how it goes (we do this for Elite areas) with 3 players:
- Gladiator: AoE DMG + Main Tank + Agro Puller
- Spirit Master: Ranged Nukes + Off Tank with pet which is a very good tank! (yeah we do like a SM in our team, they are useful in PvE, very useful!)
- Cleric: Healing + Ranged Damage when there's no need for healing + Targeted at all times on the SM Pet to monitor it's health (because of lack of a team/group healt bar of the pet) while monitoring Gladiator his health with the team/group bars. (I'm playing the Cleric here)

It's fun I'm quite sure you can match other classes together too for an optimal team build. It's what makes it interesting.

I do believe that for PvP the SM could use some flying pets...

What can we conclude from this? If you're the glasses are half-empty type, every classes suck except for templars and clerics. If you're the glasses are half-full type, most classes are balanced and need some tweaking. Here are some examples.

If you go to assassin forum you get a post saying among the melees templar>gladiator>assassin type of whining. If you go to gladiator forum you get many posts saying gladiators suck. However, if you go through enough posts to get to some detail, it's apparent that gladiators do not suck. In fact I can find some saying gladiators can out-duel 1v1 templars (w/ difficulty), sorcerers majority of the time, while losing to assassins majority of the time. Of course there are counter claims, but apparently gladiators do well against PvE with polearms (i.e. take on multiple mobs at same time aka fast lvling even w/o getting into groups) and do well in PvP with dual-sword. Most gladiator forum posts suggest not going against templars with polearms . . . they'll pwn you if you do. From this it's easy to see why there seemed to be a large percentage of gladiators playing in one of posts that was put up by eliott.

As you can see, this game is still in infancy, and people are still experimenting with how to make their class uber especially against other classes. Personally, I think it's a good sign that there is depth in strategy, and that it'll take some adjusting by the korean community. This is not to say that every class is balanced. Two exceptions seem to be rangers and spirit masters. Rangers got some love w/ last patch but I think it'll be a while before we know how that affects the dpm of rangers enough to make them viable or not. As for spirit masters, I think it'll take more than a simple patch to make them viable for 1v1 PvP. I think they'll be fine for massive PvP even in abyss (aka fortress sieges) since most of the fighting seems to be on the ground. Not in the air. As the game matures (aka chronicle 1 or 2 patch in the future like in L2), I'm sure they'll make aerial travel/combat more important, and that's when they'll probably fix aerial melee combat (probably sooner) and give spirit masters a weaker flying pet. This is just a conjecture on my part.

Anyways, just my rant.
So you expect to see the game going good in a year? I mean if you expect it to be nice in 2 major patches, they usually only comes out on a 6-6 month time or even after a year. By the way Lineage 2 was a LOT more fun on C1 then in any chronicle that came after it. The point is, if the game will only be good in a year or so it will probably be another nc failure. It's just too much time, by then other one's will be out and the one's that have problems atm, will also be a lot better (aka aoc and warhammer).

If you ask me the game need to be a lot more polished if they expect it to be a success.

About the gladiators, i found strange an assassin been able to kill one most of the time. Assassins use malee weapons and Glads usually use heavy armor this mean steel x steel, so usually glads are the wolrst targets for assassins (at least this mak sense). Usually assassins are specially effective against robe and light armor users (aka mages and rangers). Still the problem more announced of glads it's the inability to land sills in the air, it has been reported since cbt 1 and still there, any ranger can kill a gldd, it just need to flight... Glads can only take sorcerors if they stay on the ground, but why would they do that?

I don't know . . . I never said that I believe the game will get good in a year. I guess maybe you fall into the camp that believes after WoW all mmorpgs must come out perfect or else it will = epic fail.

I tend to believe this is a major misconception. Yes AoC and WHO has its failures . . . one more than the other. I've played AoC and haven't gotten around to WHO yet. AoC was a major failure b/c of lack of upper lvl content to keep players around . . . not to mention major bugs. WHO seems to not be as much of a failure (from what I've read) but has issues w/ bugs (especially lags) and major lack of balance in RvR. Personally I think Aion doesn't seem to suffer either of these serious issues. In fact for me, as long as massive PvP runs smoothly and leveling is enjoyable, the game pretty much has my money. Other balance can come later. Even if certain classes are gimped, as long as the lvling is not too difficult I can role an alt at a later time. It's not much of an issue to me.

Oh and as for more translation requests . . . I'll get around to it in my free time . . . if I can get enough free time that is.

another QQ post... seriously, stop. if SM are made this way maybe they MUSt lose to to all ranged classes? Ever thought about this? ofc you didnt...
I guess spiritmasters won't stop crying unless they will become OP again...

You speak as if SM's were once overpowered lol.

Anyways, SM's will be fixed some way or another, enough outcry and the dev's will respond. We'll just have to wait and see.
