No point made, personal experience has plenty of benifit for someone with an objective perspective, what I said was very specific and accurate.
The response is to the concept that only personal experience matters, and as I pointed out clearly, personal experience is usually worthless because gamers are too bias and jaded to come up with legitimate analysis, this is why I find myself more educated about games that I research than those who are actually playing, that doesn't however mean that personal experience is worthless or that it doesn't have a useful impact on an objective understanding. The response is about how the idea that personal experience is the ONLY way to recognize a game, whereas the truth is, an objective analysis is the ONLY way to recognize a game, personal experience, study and discovery are all just methods of gaining understanding, but the required substance is objectivity and rationallity, not personal experience. Even based on your own response, we can see how existing players are judging a games controls based on their experience and comfort with other games, it would be one thing to bring up how much they dislike the controls because they arn't exposed to that kind of gameplay, but instead they believe there is problems with their classes and the characters their playing based on their personal experience. Personal experience is only as accurte as the person experiencing them, and most of them are dead inaccurate. Only objective thinkers can have an accurate opinion of the game because they are willing to set aside their specific likes and analyse the actual parts and their value, seperate from what they like or not. Normal people will have their opinions, but you have to break down their opinions by finding why they like or dislike certain features, and than address the features which are actual responsible, the normal player will associate blame with whatever seems most apparent without a moment to bother figuring out exactly how. __________________ ![]() May the Balaur overcome ALL! Thx for the post zorn! Unfortunately all games have this whine and complain until something gets "balanced" but most of the time it just changes it so people can whine and complain about something else being "unbalanced". Plus a great deal of the time, the forums != what's really in the game.
1. OMG SOMEONE 1 SHOT ME IN PVP 2. CALL THE KILLER A NUB 3. LOG OUT IN ANGER 4. RUSH TO FORUMS AND POST HOW CLASS X NEEDS TO BE BUFFED OR CLASS Y NEEDS A NERF BECAUSE OF BEING OVERPOWERED 5. SPEND THE NEXT WEEK RESPONDING TO REPLIES WHO DOESN"T AGREE OR HOW THE OP NEEDS TO L2P yes, the caps were necessary :P This stuff is always going to be there but it will be interesting to see how they change Aion, if they even do at all to "balance" it. The first several months of games have a lot of tweaking anyhow . |
