Japanese Release

I don't know if this has been brought up on the source yet, but while browsing the forums at MMORPG, I saw a link someone had of a topic over at MMOsite. Apparently, Aion's release in Japan is slated for sometime this summer. Additionally, there is a Japanese trailer which is basically the open beta trailer but all mixed up. Here's to hoping that Japan will get with the game and start using PC's instead of noob PS3's and Wii's.

I wanna point out that this ob trailer is the worst official promo I've ever seen, the editing is extremely awful and lacks dynamic. Even I can edit one better.

Aion, a MMORPG developed by NCsoft, had started its comercial service on November 15 in South Korea and December in China.

Note, that the article doesn't mention any info about release/dates, it talks about starting commercial service, aka massive hype, open betas and PR/marketing stuffs.

Yet, it is still sad japanese ppl were informed about these things even before us.

As the saying goes: a circus with no animals won't pull a crowd (okay, I made that one up), and in a similar fashion will I not be able to give you any closer release date until the time is right, and we're comfortable with doing so in relative certainty (i.e. until a date exists).

Thanks for the reply then. So basically, no one knows when the game will be released for NA. That means those sites posting May 2009 are not giving the right information.

Well, saying "Release on Summer 2009" is not really giving a "Date", just a period of time.

Exactly ! Because if you think about it, would it be realistic for shops to give out a release date before the developers expose it? It is only their estimation.
