Man, I remember when my signature was of Fran from FFXII. The source image was...sexually explicit, to say the least. And no one ever knew.
Until now. :l |

Shuu's also a bad bi-linguist and a French(?) asian botter or bot supporter. His/her tag may be "hawt" but his/her personality flaws make the actual person unattractive. I'm really wondering how people can support botters unless they're customers or the botters themselves becoming the rich asshats that ruin every mmo. __________________ Bliss is that in itself. Can people please just post things about the topic if you actually have input about the topic. It would also be nice to not be rude about it either. Asking for too much? I may be hoping for too much indeed in hopes that people can come together and work towards a common goal and stick to it - not letting the desires of money get the best of them. If you really think about it, if you purchase Qinas, you're spending money on an item you'll never be able to touch or use towards any real goal you may have in your life. Why are we spending money like that especially while the world is in a recession? I understand that not everyone is hard pressed for cash but spending money on a currency you can only use in a videogame is really living in a dream world or "Candy World" as Feii so intelligently put in his informative post. Maybe I'm living in Candy World thinking that I'd be able to play a Korean game and have fun without the worry of botters and demolished economies like America's. Isn't the life of MMO's supposed to be more fun and exciting than real life? __________________ Bliss is that in itself. A heavenly madrigal that illuminates all forms of grace and beauty. The burden wouldn't have to be on MMO's to be more fun and exciting than IRL if IRL would just leave candy world and figure out how to do what games can. I mean evolve. But the cotton candy is sticky!

personally, i think a better idea would be to kill the bots as they farm. Have guilds solely dedicated to hunting bots of the opposite faction. people could post the bots here, and then the guilds hunting parties would search and destroy. Plus it wouldnt be too boring for the hunters either, as many people would not know about their function and try to kill them, so lots of pvp action.

Killing them and exiling them in the market place - both of them are difficult journeys. Killing them won't be as easy as it sounds since there were reports that if you attack a bot or a group of bots, the other surrounding bots come to their aid and take you out. That happened in L2 as well. It was actually fun, going red on bots and then washing your sins away protected by clannies. There were tons of bloody wars in the first chronicle but they survived by hunting under the radar and staying out of high traffic areas. Out of sight, out of mind. To the players, they were defeated but most of us didn't exactly notice that people were still buying Adena (L2 currency) and thus supporting the botters. Botters still stayed out of high traffic areas until either the 4th or 5th chronicle when they were strong enough to not care anymore. They could kill heroes if they so desired. An alliance would have to come to bring the hammer down on botters but that would only solve a single conflict. In retrospect, even if we did kill them in the fields, they would only get right back up to begin their hunt for mats again. We'd only be slowing down their gathering process about .02 percent. They obviously don't care about deleveling themselves because they do that purposefully so they can maintain their levels to get certain types of materials.
If we as players are going to fight them, it'll have to be in the markets, not necessarily in the streets. I wouldn't go out of my way to kill and hunt them unless they are Asmodian botters. It's unfortunately a waste of time. On the fields, we'll have to work around them or kill them for hunting grounds but I'd imagine killing them will have consequences. I'm certainly glad to see some people would like to play Aion in peace and is willing to work for it. Have some courage and backbone and fight the botters that plague servers. Also, justamemory, when we evolve, there will still be botters and greedy economic slaying asshats buying gold from botters. I should know... I live in Candy World... 'tis a sad place. Too much candy... too many cavities... not enough dentists... ![]() ~Redagio __________________ Bliss is that in itself. A heavenly madrigal that illuminates all forms of grace and beauty. I just remembered, killing them in the fields is only possible if one faction crosses to the other factions world right? Since you can't kill members of your own faction I believe. The easiest way of doing that would to setup a legion the other side knew was just for bot cleanup and have that legion specifically marked as such.
And I remember the bloody wars of the prelude/first chronicle of L2, we even started naming different classes of bots. It was kinda fun hunting them down and killing them, but as Red says, ultimately it was pointless. Still if you have a choice between a real player and a bot for your prey, I know which I'm choosing. L2 made me hate bots and RMT like only other L2 players can understand, in part because nowhere else did I feel like it was a temptation. So I'll still try and do what I can, I'm just better at killing things than playing the market I need a broker I can just hand my stuff to. |

if this game get infested by bots like L2 did i'm not playing it, your plan is nice but i'm not paying 15$ to do NCsoft job, they must clean it or i leave to another game AND you guys should do the same, i mean why i have to suport a company who leave bot's and gold farmer's hule theyr games? and for who think an MMO is profitable in anyway i just feel sorry for you, got to school get a real job and become a man... insteed of talking **** on foruns and botting all day for nothing!

That's what the coalition would do. I wouldn't suggest giving your items to someone else to sell but we'll be there to give you prices for the items to set up in your store making it plain and simple. I would even go so far as to create a guide and chart to help people decide as to what to charge to make it reasonable and have the plan ultimately work but I can only do this once the game has released. I can't read Korean >.< It's also possible to get a head start if Hellrose or Elliot helped me. Of course, I'm not going to do it unless people are going to at least give it a shot. I honestly don't mind if the coalition fails but then nobody could say we didn't try and others can gloat and say that they were the ones who destroyed it. I'm not sure what it is about the people who play MMOs but everytime, you can be sure to run across someone who's proud to ruin anything good or productive and watch things fall apart. Suppose there wouldn't be forces of good and evil if they didn't exist...

I may not have played Lineage 2.... but I've seen and played with both botters and hackers. I'll admit... i'm a lazy player, I hate working hard for my stuff simple as that. I want action.... NOW! Rushing through is one thing... CHEATING is a whole different matter. Yes, cheating... botters are not the biggest issue... buyers are. Botters only enable cheating, those who buy are the ones who have my scorn.
I've thought about an economical aproach to combating bots, whether it be underpricing items, or even "boycotting" bots, and it always comes down to the same thing. The bots aren't the problem... it's the buyer... how will you get rid of the people who buy and buy and buy? As much as i am against private servers... if worst comes to worst... then that is where i will go... i hope that someone will have a server... with the same designed settings, and with strict botting laws and regulations. If NCsoft cant control their servers.... than maybe someone on a private server can. Would anyone support me on this? if NCsoft cannot control bots... would someone want to step up, and host an honest private server? And if so, who would be interested in joining? __________________ ![]() "IF IT AIN'T GOT KILLIN'- IT AIN'T A REAL VIDEO GAME" quote -Pezhead- |

It depends on my guild Pez, but if NcSoft would pull the similar **** as before theres no way I'm forking out money when I get a better service from a private server.
I like the theory of this idea Red, although you didn't really take into account human greed. I'd like to see how it plays out if you actually carry this plan when the game comes out. When the signature is that hot its usually because the person behind the pc is the complete opposite =_=; |
