I have to admit, the movements in the trailers I have seen do not seem quite as fluent and smooth and have a slight Lineage II feel to it in sense of combat (not the point and click), but that is just the trailer so I could be dead wrong. I hope.

In any case, there might be a problem with ragdoll physics IF a certain situation occurs. That situation is that like in WoW, upon death you have to run back to your body to bring yourself back.

Now say your guy gets blown out of the air and you go plummeting down back to the ground faster than the guy who can set himself on fire in the Fantasic 4 when Silver Surfer WTFPWNS him and takes him out of the Earth's atmosphere. Imagine the land plays a round of ping-pong with your lifeless corpse and flinging your body somewhere unreachable or basically a place that you can not get to, what do you do? Can you bring yourself back into town but with penalty costs?

HOWEVER, I am pretty sure that if you die in this game, like in Lineage II (maybe CoH/CoV has the same thing), you'll spawn back to the nearest town.

Ragdoll physics FTW.

A while ago, I read somewhere on these forums that someone was complaining about the same thing, and I think it was Atreid who told us the movies were old, really old, and that the most recent one was the one from GStar. He also said that the animations and, well, pretty much every aspect of the game was being perfected by the devs. I hope that brings you confort :P

That's why I said no one should judge Aion based on those vids. The Crytek engine has excellent skeletal movement (yes i stole Mark's words) so it should be fine.

damn, all this stuff im hearing about players falling out of the sky, massive PvP and a place they call "The Abyss" just sounds so wicked It would really suck if its not free lance PvP like L2. I really hope while your grinding or leveling in the world of AIoN you can see battles right in front of you, clan wars breaking out in front of your eyes and just jumping in it and attacking anyone freely. It should be like that since the "the chosen" and "the fallen" dont like each other. Their should be battles freely whenever you see opposite race. I dont know but things are looking pretty sweet and i dont think i can wait much longer...

Sorry, but I disagree, due to the fact this would be unfair for new players. Plus, the game would be a never-ending war zone between players.

Maybe a /duel command?

I agree, being able to attack opposite factions at will would be nice. Just not your own.

There's an edit button that you can use to reply to many posts with a single post. Just keeps the forum neat.

Personally i wouldnt mind if you could attack your own faction. Of course, there would be penalties for doing so. Whether or not PvP will be completely open however we don't know yet. I would like to kill someone who's been bugging me for the past 30 minutes though

Race: The Chosen

it was clearly stated by developpers interview that you wont be able to attack you're own faction... nothing about arenas or duels was said though but i'm 99% sure that one of those if not both will be ingame.

as for people that does like the FFA games ( i m one of them), sorry people AION wont be like that i'm affraid. wich is annoying in a sense.. kinda frustrating to read some moron from you're own faction and not able to KOS him ^^

They should just have some zones where its free-for-all and some zones where its faction-to-faction.

naah it's not that bad, in L2 pvp was exactly like that, and not even an exception for the newb grounds. only in cities you couldn't attack each other. so if you wanted a spot to grind, but some1 else was on it, you could just pk him (or pvp him if he flagged back). often the other player would come back for revenge (sometimes with clannies/friends), so you have to watch your back a bit, but a never-ending war.. nah not really, only for the high-end pvp clans maybe.

Well, I played L2 to about the mid-50's, and I saw it as a never-ending war zone. When I was a lower level I would always get killed when I went to level. Mind you, I often rounded up people in town to go kill them, with promise of a rare item the PKer may or may not have.
