Explained on Aion

It sounds a little like the wilderness in Runescape..

the wilderness is for people to go and pvp and u cant pvp anywhere else?

I'm pretty sure you can PvP in other areas, but The Abyss is probably the, "You gonna get $^@!ed up" kinda area where some of the biggest battles will go on because that is where some of the best loot will come from. Maybe >.>

Sounds like an alternate dimension where large-scale PvP battles will unfold. Probably a convienent setting for instanced quests, mostly.

yea mark look like the border lands in daoc. but with instanced "pve" dungeons" too. For people that dont now the game, broder lands are the zone that each realm can access too, at high lvl you used ot go there to siege, pvp ( solo or small partys players hunt), XP. kinda what connect each realm.( but you cant go to other realms country)

I dont know if there ll be other places to pvp ( most likely yes) but the abyss will obviously be the place too be for rvr and pve hl content.

the abyss sounds... awesome, actually. lotsa pvp, extra good loot and ingredients for crafting, special monsters and bosses, enemy camps to assault and pillage... i'm really excited for it!

this better not be the only pvp zone.. cus that would really suck

i really hope pvp will be open, you can kill everybody you see, even your own faction (maybe with exception of the newb grounds)

We're still young yet on knowledge of Aion. The areas announced so far may not be all that is there. And if they are the only ones, I'm sure that more will be added as time progresses.

I'm just hoping that if there is PvP up in the air, we'll be seeing players crash brilliantly into the ground below them.

Oh for sure we will. If a player dies in mid air, I bet they will fall to the ground in a dead slump

Seeming as how they have ragdoll physics in CoH and CoV, I highly doubt Aion won't have it. And I'm willing to bet that Aion's physic engine will be a little bit more advanced

lol having people drop out the sky would be awesome, can just imagine lvling on the ground and having a player drop down next to you and you just look up to see a massive PvP in mid air...ahhh can hardly wait

The CryENGINE supports ragdoll physics. There's no reason Aion should sport them.
