Maybe they'll make it really in-depth and make it so you have to choose the height, material, thickness, width, shape, etc. So you have to find a non-burnable wood, carve a bow, find a string, and then set it on fire to give it a fire affect... o_o

enchants are nice and all but there not the most important thing imo, if they got everything else working good and didnt have enchants i wouldnt mind at all

There been a few iv seen that you cant upgrade them, BUT they offer armor with diffrent stats and only the weps can be upgraded. Oh and they offer alot of diffrent color armor and styles for that class along with diffrent stats the only bad thing is to get a perfect one is harder to find then actly making one in game that have upgrading

I'm sure people will be upset if there isn't a minimum form of customization. honestly, if it's in the simple, unoriginal "enchanting" format I would be happy. When games try and do something new it could turn out bad, but if they could really come up with something people like *cheers* to the devs.

Its almost certain that this game will have enchantments. The question is, in which way are the developers going to implement them? A bit unoriginal, copy WoW or something similar? Or some new way that we have yet to think of as fans?

Honestly, I like the idea of having your armors/weapons form to your playing style. I just can't imagine how it would work and stay far to everyone else in the game. If something becomes to powerful, make sure you're ready for the developers to nerf it. And for those that don't know what nerf is, its basically destruction of something fans like. It originated in City of Heroes from Statesman (Jack Emmert).

As for customization; I want a lot of it. I want to be able to make my character unique with hopes that very, very few people will copy it simply by chance. At first in Guild Wars, your chances of looking different are small. I don't want that.

I think some how adding stats to your weapon would be more reasonable, rather than using a +1 - +16 weapon/armor enchanting system again. I also think it would be more useful rather than just increasing patk to a weapon.

Keep in mind that WoW is essentially a "copy" in itself although many people would like to be lieve it's the first in a genre.

I agree with you about the guild wars thing though. There isn't much customization unless you a) dye your stuff (which doesn't really do much) or b) spend a long time getting obsidian armor (which I did by farming UW) but either way all armor is pretty much the same.
I don't know what kind of armor customization Aion CAN offer that will make it unique. I don't know a single game where a person's armor looks fairly unique or that you can create how it looks.

Gw's has 28 endgame armors per class (meaning max stats) that are completely customizable for your playstyle....and color...

also there are about 30-40 skins perweapon also at max stats...

So I think I am going to have to disagree when you say there is not much customization there, since it's completely customizable...

-you pick your skin type (1 of 28 per class at 5 pieces per set that's 140 pieces to mix and match) , bonuses (which are applyed via runes and insignias) and color (colors you can mix to suit your needs out of 10 primary colors)...I'm not sure how much more customizable you can get than that.....

that is FAR beyond most games who have MAYBE 2 or 3 armors that have max stats per class...

in fact MOST games have ONE...that's right ONE armor skin with max stats per class, and guess what ONE weapon skin with max stats....

I see far more deversity in GW's than in any other game...for two reasons

1.Armor skin does not have anything to do with level

2. Armor can be any color or combonation of "types" (ie "sets" are not required for bonuses)
