Small notice for Beta Event participants (Regarding installation issues)

From my understanding, those of us that have pre-ordered will have full access to all the beta events. Right now the next beta event will start Friday June 19th starting at 12pm (noon) PST and will run till the 22nd till 12am (midnight) PST. You might want to check out aiononline.com for the source dates (I think it can be found there, please correct me if I'm wrong).

I've been getting these errors all weekend when trying to download the client:

The NCSoft.com server is temporarily unavailable. Please check your network connections and try again later.

The install information could not be downloaded. Please try again in a few minutes.

I've added the launcher to the exceptions lists for the windows firewall as well as completely shutdown the firewall. I've redownloaded the launcher installer from the email links as well as their FTP location but still nothing.

Any ideas?

i also have been having mucho problems downloading. I have net framework 2.0, 13gigs downloaded atm, no more will download. It tells me the the local version is 1.0.2.10. I am getting a "System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range." error. and "Error During last operation" I tried moving the Aion directory, uninstalling the NCLauncher, reinstalling it with a fresh beta invite link via email, and i still get the same error. Also tried the temporary fix floating around where you alter the NCLauncher Game.xml. And lastly I tried a fresh reinstall and the download will not start. you know, I've beta tested a number of games in my day and I was skeptical to try this game and I gave in and pre ordered from gamestop, and now i am disappointed I did. Is a direct download link possible? Maybe by a moderator of this site? this is disappointing for sure.

Just as a heads up to people with install issues, make sure your region is set to North America when trying to download.

As I discovered last night, when your region is set to Europe while trying to download Aion, you may get this error: "The install information could not be downloaded. Please try again in a few minutes." I guess this might be causing problems for people who still had the NCsoft launcher installed for other games, and already had their region changed to Europe.

When I swapped to North America the game downloaded and installed just fine.

Now, after having US Aion already installed it still shows EU Aion in the list of not installed games, however I get the same error as above when I attempt to install it:

I kept getting a bunch of different errors just kept clicking repair and eventually it repaired itself and now I'm good to go..

I have been trying to get it installed for over a week now, and still nothing. I get to the update screen and it says "System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: key" now. not sure what to do and ive yet to get any useful information on it

I get that everytime I try to log on. Is this becuase beta servers are down or is my account not properly set up? I just downloaded today and wanted to see if I could get on. I know the 2nd phase starts friday, but didn?t know if there were any servers working inbetween phases.

That notification is nothing to worry about. It's exactly what it should say right now with the servers down.

I re-downloaded the 5.5gig client, unzipped it into a Aion folder I made. I get an System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range. error, however, I found if i leave the launcher up for around 4 minutes the game will automatically launch. no clue why, but, it will work for now i guess.

This weekend's beta has a few things updates:

Updated with culturalized content for Asmodian levels 1-10
- Updated UI at login screen
- Localization fixes for various in game maps
- Fixed various NPC messages
- Initial zone channels increased from 4 to 10
- Server queue added

So they wont be added yet. Perhaps in a later beta they will add other languages, too.
