Oh I forgot to ask is it a open or a closed beta, or both?

They have not yet decided if there is a need for a closed beta. Or at least that was the stand about 2 weeks ago.

The game will be available to purchase in Australia but So far there has only been talks of NA and EU betas. Also the servers are in EU NA and Korea... sooo guess you get to pick btw US lag and Asia lag.

Does anyone know if armor will be class restricted or will it be restricted only by type (cloth, leather, mail, etc.)?

I don't see how a mage could wear plate if armor is class restricted, but I thought I would ask anyways.

The armor is restricted by type. However you can change what type you can wear by adding Stigma's, which are similar to wow's gems. Its a item that fits in teh sockets of weapons and armor to give your character a boost, such as, the abilitily to wear higher armor types.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm glad armor won't be class restricted, takes away from game immersion imo.

Will the Elyos & Asmodians be able to talk in any form? (general channels, etc) Or will they be adopting the horrible language barrier as seen in WoW.

I'm afraid so and even though it annoyed me that I couldn't yell at alliance killing me in Wow, the barrier is rather logical. What's the chances that the two sides speak the same language? and to make it more realistic you obviously can't speak to each other coz of that.

I have a Q! Is there limitations to the application of stigma? The reason i asked this is because i saw a screen of some translated stigma selling for 200k each and i saw one that taught shield and another that taught spellbook and so i was wondering can a wizard use a shield lol. That kind of use of stigma would be rather pointless. So again is there any possible limitations to the applications of stigma? (I saw no required class in the screens i saw)

And another Q! How is that ive seen Gladiator and Socerrer do minor healing. Is it a pot that takes time to cast or is it something all classes of aion can do?

Well, I'm going to assume there's some limitations on stigmas, but we don't really know what they are yet.

For the healing, there are potions that any class can use, I'm not really sure if all classes have utility healing skills.

Limited is only the amount of stigma-stones (5 or so, 1 per 10 lvls of character progression) as it's been said in other threads.
As for prerequires for certain stigma stones... well, that would make the whole system a little usless. As it should allow players to customise their characters by adding features that are in normal circumstances not obtainable by them. So I have a really hard time thinking what such prerequires to applying stigmas might be.

Comments from players?

Well beta has been on in korea for a while now. Has any player posted actual comments? The game looks awesome, is it yet? We see a lot of infos and theories, but I'm very interested in hearing what people who actually played say.

the beta is for korean only atm, so... it's hard to find some comments ! plus you have the NDA.... so we only have some translation from korean feedback, and their main concern was about : lack of customization (about stats, skilltree...) and pvp balance between classes !

(btw, thx zin for updating the classes names )

Yes I'm aware of those. But what I really wanted to hear from those ppl was "Is it fun? Are they having the time of their life? Is this the game we are waiting for? Or does it just have potential?"

I'm currently a WoW player with a 5th and 6th 70 on the way, but after more than 2 years I'm starting to look for something else(which is also why I got so many chars, getting bored), and I was hoping Aion would be it. For some reason I'm not very hot about WAR, and I know my gf really likes the look of Aion. I'm not very interested in yet another WoW expansion.

I want something that'll be as fun as WoW was with great PvP AND PvE. If PvP looks anything like the abyss video (
) it should be very promising. I know it offers this and that, but features to me is only secondary to gameplay.

So yeah, is it fun?
