So.......am I missing something? How can they ship my pre-order for an item that releases on September? Is this a stupid tactic so as not to be able to cancel my pre-order if I so wish? Isn't that......well.....illegal or something?

erm no it just a auto message thing there no where said you cant cancel, if they charged you now then its your own fault for going through Amafailz.com.

GameStop doesnt bill you tell AION ships out so you have plenty of time to change your mind, If they said it be to you in two week and it really not they keep sending you emails stating that it be sent later this date i think. BUT tell it actly leave where ever the box is at Amafailz have to give you back your money UNLESS you said u agree to what was stated and they could said no refunds even if its preorder

I sent them an email, let's see what they respond.

Whoever's managing the payments probably updated your status to Shipped instead of Confirmed by mistake. I've done it before too (I run an online business)

Pre-order clearly stated that I would be billed when the item actually shipped. So this is BS to say the least.

I was dubious about the everythingplay ltd listings - you havent actually bought from amazon, but from one of the sellers that sell through them,

EU law grants you a 7 day cooling off period though, so you can cancel at anytime in the first 7 days for a full refund provided no portion of the product has been delivered to you.

Thank you for your e-mail.
This is indeed a pre-order and is due for release on 03 July. The Amazon system struggles with pre-orders, and as such they instruct us to “ship” items that are pre-orders and then send them out on the release date.
As for your key, we are getting information from the supplier this afternoon, so I will be in touch regarding that later today.

Yeah, you will have been charged probably. Basically this seller has tricked the Amazon system to make it think that he's shipping the game out to you. That means payment will be processed and taken.

Now the reason he has done this is because he doesn't want you to pull out of the order once you receive your beta key and try to cancel your order for whatever reason.

I’m not sure on the legality of this move, but I’m also not sure if there is anything you can do about it either. Maybe a complaint to Amazon? I’ve seen this done by other unscrupulous sellers in the past mind…

OK, so I got another reply, which unfortunately I cannot post since it was marked confidential.

Basically it says that the supplier will not be getting shipments of the CE and whether I wanted to be downgraded to a normal edition or cancel my pre-order. It also went on to say the reasons why they are not getting any stock, basically because other biggers chains have demanded more, hence the confidentiality.

This sucks big time. Anyone else that bought form amazon.co.uk received a similar email?

Nope, no email here, however I ordered yesterday morning early and on my order it says I will be supplied by Amazon EU itself, not one of their partners. I think the people who ordered after the original Amazon stock ran out (which seemed to happen pretty quickly), but before they stopped taking orders on the CE will probably have to reorder from somewhere else - don't know if you'll get your preorder keys though. You still might.

I'd give amazon themselves a ring and ask specifically about the codes.

If you're feeling pessimistic you can always cancel your order and buy the game through the NCsoft store. The only downside is you won't be getting a box then, but they do offer the CE version.
