[Translation] Preview: Secret Rooms of Castles

Source: T3h P0w4rb00k Preview: Secret Rooms of Castles A second preview of this summer?s blazing update, secret rooms inside Castles! ![]() It?s a secret instance dungeon hidden inside the 8 castles in the Abyss, so you can think of it as add-ons to the instance dungeons. Players can go in with a party and meet diverse kinds of Balaur monsters. Within the treasure chests of these dungeons, rewards are different compared to the other kinds of chests. So let?s talk about this part of the summer update. 1. Only the current occupants of the castle may enter Even tho its obvious, only the race that occupies the castle can enter. If Elyos has it only elyos may enter, same for Asmodians. ![]() ![]() Some forts have unique entrances, some have doors. Each castle has their own rooms for a total of 8 rooms, Players can clear these dungeons inside the castles that is in their race?s possession. Therefore the more castles they possess, the more of these instances they can enter. Also, there will be quests for these dungeons. Ownerships of these castles will allow you to take more of these quests. This would make castle sieges more active and important than before. We are still thinking about this but the re-entry time for these instances will be 1-2 per day. This will need careful consideration to balance it out, so it may change from time to time. 2. Open the treasure chest within the time limit! The biggest trait that defines these treasure chests is the way you can get them. Normally you are rewarded after you enter a normal instance, kill the boss at end and earn good rewards, but in these new instances players must open the treasure chest within the time limit to earn the reward. When the time limit is reached, the treasure chest disappears. ![]() Gotta open this within the time limit! Also, there are several treasure chests within the dungeon, so players must carefully think about how they will go about opening them. PS: What kind of rewards are in these? This is also important. So far it is confirmed that kinah, stigma shards, and another reward item, which will be added in the upcoming update. 3. Different environments for different castles In the upcoming update each castles have their own secret rooms, for a total of 8 (bottom layer 3, top layer 5, inner castle (Divinity Castle) still undecided) We still haven?t decided on the exact entry level requirements, but each will have different entry requirements (the bottom layer ones will have lower level entry requirements). Players can visit each castle to enter these dungeons. Each have their own type of internal structures, and of course, the time limit will be different for each as well. It will be important for the community to figure out the best way to conquer these dungeons. ![]() Inside the secret rooms, Balaurs are guarding giant piles of treasure. ![]() After the monster in the middle, there are several doors. What lies beyond each of these? ![]() Inside the secret rooms, different kinds of monsters are guarding it. ![]() Hard to believe this is inside a castle. How does one reach here? 4. New Balaur monsters guarding these secret rooms! Ones guarding these secret rooms are the Balaur, defeating each will give AP as usual as well as items. The thing is that new kinds of monsters never seen before will appear. Currently their levels and skills haven?t been revealed, but its confirmed that they are no joke. I've got a Guild Wars Deep kinda feeling about this area. Maybe it's the multiple doors that's reminded me of it, but it does sound like a fun, smaller rushed race through the area. I'm really looking forward to it!

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Reminds me of the Aht Urghan challenges from FFXI which were a fun challenge to figure out strategies and try to complete them.
Always nice to with a game like this to add more incentive for capturing RvR objectives. |
