I've already said my piece on this topic, but people hoping for an oceanic 'server' or dedicated server, just stop.. ncsoft doesn't even know Australia exists

.. hell they sold lineage 2 to some company in SEA and then locked aussie IPs out when the open beta finished...

but anyways... they really don't care and we don't make up a market to give a **** about... dollers. people. dollers.

Have there been any tidbits released yet about hosting sites? I really hope San Jose at least gets some servers, as it is the closest hop via most of our Pacific links.

Texas or NE USA would be absolutely tragic.

What? I played with somebody in Australia for several months after Lineage 2 went live. Sure, potential workaround, but i had never heard of any problems.

1) As many have mentioned - this poll is moot until we find out which servers would offer the lowest ping, especially given the heavy emphasis on PvP, where latency differences can be crippling.

Well for the remaining Aus community on Warhammer, they've been playing on Siel for the CB's. Thought that server would get more votes than the others. Never even heard of Markutan being suggested by fellow aussies.

I'm not so fussed about where they're located, I just hope they make a server with a lil tag on it, saying Oceanic =) I'd love to play with the oceanic players, rather then have to play on US times for grps etc.

On FFXI it was a bit like that. They were all US or EU servers, and at our peak time, it was mostly empty :S Sure the other japanese players were on, but it wasn't a big population compared to the US peak time (for grps, way back when the dunes was where you began the grping til max)

I'd like to add that as an Oceanic player I also don't really care where the servers are located. You can't expect them to situate a server and corresponding maintenance office in the region just because some people demand it.

It is most likely not economically feasible and I would prefer that they strengthen their backbones to the NA servers to provide a better connection to Oceania.

That said, they could host a server in Korea, haha. Bandwidth is cheap and plentiful there, and we all know where the principal developers are located any way.

At the end of the day all I expect is a decent ping (preferably below 300ms, this isn't an FPS) and a healthy population in our timezone.

I support this, even though I am not an Aussie (I'm a Singaporean), my time zones are about the same and I would like to play with people on oceanic times as well.
