Let us for a minute believe that China will actually squander massive amounts of resources to stop gold farming and eradicate all but 20% of the farmer bosses. The prices of ingame currency to real life currency will spike and lead to a massive influx of botters from different countries to start up gold farming. In the end we still have gold farming, but just done by different people instead of the Chinese.

I think the term Communist is outdated in the usage of discussions of politics, and should only be used in the study of history.

There are only two Communist states still in existence in the world right now: North Korea and Cuba. Although recently Cuba has numerous political reforms to open up to the outside world to draw in foreign investments, and a capitalist domestic market is slowly establishing.

My family and I are going to visit Cuba this Christmas, it should be a very interesting vaccation.

Which is still a good thing because they are probably less efficient farmers

I like the gold farmers.... i will miss them.
Its a hard work, bad paid and compensates my own lack of time with very little money.
On our Server you can actually buy 10m for 12$, thats less then 1€ per 1m! That means for 10 bucks i can get my lvl 40 wings without saving all my money from lvl 30 on... and i can focus on lvling instead of grinding or gathering.
And yes, the spamming is annoying, but i played on 2 servers now and dont saw many bots arround.
But i fear: there will be no china gold sellers in european version... its a pitty..
And now come on and flame arround a bit.

This is very good. I hope US and EU will do the same...
Its obvious that both buyers and sellers are part of the problem. Supply and demand are the two sides of the same problem.
Its nice to see that China at least want to try to be part of the solution. And farmers in china and the rest of the world should get a real job instead that contributes to society. A honest job...

it is quite possibly outdated, but none the less one of my favorite things. In theory, communism is the end all solution to the worlds problems, but the problem is just that, in theory. to put it into practice would practically require emotionless robots to be in control so they are not affected by greed or power hungry maniacs. The people them selves would also have to be robots, every person would have to endure the same stress levels and preform the same amount of work for it to be fair.

Also, Cuba had to be doing something right, they had the same leader for quite some time without throwing any major mutinies or escapades. Cant comment about N.Korea, i mean seriously, when was the last time anyone heard about what they were up too, besides the spook stories of them having super power nukes, 100x better than anyone elses, or them having the military force to rule the world, they just dont feel like it ><

And like i said before, what exactly is democracy without something to compare and contrast with it? without one or the other, where does everything in the middle stand?

*edit* @guy saying its goldfarming is good. I kind of agree... in moderation the ability to purchase things such as gold does make life easier. But it becomes a real issue when it gets to cheap, the masses start buying mass amounts, and the bot trains take up spots needed by actual players. If the gold was expensive, not nearly as many people would buy it, which would keep the economy stable. but that will never happen so they must die.

edit 2* my super solution to gold farming, has always been, have the company that produces the game offer to sell gold directly to players. HOWEVER, make it expensive as hell so its not like everyone does it, just something that person X is desperate for level 40 wings, so drops 40$ to buy them. By doing this, there would be no need for the gold farmers, and the spots would be free cause the producing company can make gold appear out of thin air.

I love all the people QQing about people in china losing their jobs. Please, I don't pay to play a game to keep some sweat shop in business by selling gold to lazy kids who would rather use moms visa card then play the game. Gold farmers are a nuisance that screw up the economy and the game for all of the people who don't want to always take a short cut. I have no idea how much real impact this will have. I know I wouldn't want to find myself in a courtroom in china facing the death penalty for makin a few bucks of selling gold in some video game.

I can see the subscriptions of one specific game, which's name i shall not mention for the sake of avoiding another flame war,
dropping to a handfull of millions for a while until they make some poor burmese, vietnamese or maybe indian people or anything the like take over the chinese work.
With its chinese servers down at this moment, it might probably drop to the same number of subscriptions Aion has right now or even less. That'be a hard hit for the fanboys and hater.

Well if china ever succeeds with this ban atleast.

I think the police in china can do a fine job when they are properly motivated. There just needs to be political will and power behind them.
