Depends which place you pre-ordered from.

If you pre-ordered in store, you must pick it up there..they might not have one though.

Great post... looks like I'm a couple days too late to try out this round of beta, though! Is the next date July 17th for North America?

yes,next beta is scheduled to start friday 17th ( Ku Ku need sto edit page 1 for new dates and times )

they need to provide you with a pre order key ,not just for the beta access but for the ingame bonus items and headstart as well ( something most folks seem to forget: even if they send the key later it is still of use for those 2 bonuses ) , the sooner you get that key the better .In fact : they should have given you that key when you placed the order .

Imma go back for the pre ordr key, I had put it on order way before any of this. However, i do have another question, if i already have a beta key will I have to get another one for the other beta events.

The only key which gives access to all beta events is a pre order key ( or a pre purchase key if you buy directly from NCsoft) ,all other keys are limited to one beta event .In adddition to this a pre order or pre purchase key also gives access to the headstart .

The disclaimers state there may be extra wipes at the discretion of the developers. If the database record layouts change and it is too much hassle to convert to the new setup, expect a wipe.

Other reasons would be running a load of people through early content to simulate opening day sprint, or running a bunch past updated content.

That is very unlikely but theoretically possible. I'm not expecting any wipes prior to open beta .

I think I got the pre-order key. I got a demo type box that says AION with Pre-order bonuses included. (beta event access, exclusive in-game items,exc.. pre-order contest)

Thank yuo soo much for this guide, its a bucket full of Aion love lol.

I pre ordered from Game in the UK (living there helped ) and they are stating the preorder beta key is for all the remaining beta's and that it wont be emailed till the 14th, maybe they have a cannon too, though knowing Game they prob got homing pidguns

Im now in the process of downloading the client etc, ready to goooo.

So again thx, you saved me hours of tramping through threads lol, not that it will stop me but least I know the important things are done

I think the disclaimer is standard, although I keep hearing this recurring rumour from people that they intend to encourage people to use the Abyss in the next beta test. If this is true, then I suppose they might make it possible to create a level 25 character from character creation...it would certainly get more people into the Abyss faster...but I guess we'll wait and see.
