For all of us too, the first download only grabbed 5-6 Gigs then the repair obtained an additional 8-9 Gigs. I'm not disagreeing that yours is 14G but mine is 7.8G after the consistency check and has run fine for both beta's so perhaps you downloaded somewhere completely different but what comes from the link i've given is 7.8G :P

I downloaded the US client and switched region to EU.

I understand totally. I edited to add a picture in my previous post if that helps things. It seems to me that the EU download is different in size, although it makes no logical sense lol. They're supposed to be the same, so I don't know what's hogging all our PC's...Anyway, I think for a guide, and to be accurate, it would be best to stick with saying you need 15Gb free space minimum. That way you cover everything etc.

Do those of you with 14+ gig directory sizes still have a file called Aion_Main_0.0.0.0To1.0.2.10.ncpatch inside your Aion directory? If so that is the archive the launcher downloads to install Aion. From my experience it should be deleted automatically either at the end of the install or when you first successfully launch Aion.

I've used that file to install Aion on 3 different comps now without Aion having to download anything so I'm certain that's what it is for. If you do have that file and have ran and played Aion successfully, and it hasn't been removed you are probably safe to delete it. Or at the very least move it out of your Aion directory until you have verified it still works ok without it (for myself with a directory size of 7.83gb it works fine). Please note the probably tho.. I am giving this advice based on the fact it works for me

Yup i've changed it to say that some of the other client downloads are coming in at 14.5G so thanks for the heads up on that!

Damn...I've just had a look and there is nothing like that in there. Any idea what folder just in case I'm missing it? (the largest folder seems to be the "Objects" folder within the installation folders - this file is 7.2 Gb on it's own!)

Oh.. boo.. It'd be in the Aion root directory in the same place as the Object folder etc. Out of interest tho, my Objects folder is only 3.91gb. Its kinda strange they're different bc I've play on both the European and US servers on this beta lol :/

It is really odd yes... I've had no trouble at all with my client but its half the size :O

Maybe the on we're running is a beta client and you've downloaded the full? Although that doesn't make much sense really!

Hehe well if you really do want to find out, to make it easier try using a program like this here:

Just incase you haven't used anything like it before, just highlight all the files in your Aion directory, right click on one of them and choose Create .sfv file. Then send that file to your friends and get them to put it in their aion directory (they'll need the same prog installed) and run it, and it'll say what files are different sizes. You can order which are the same and different by clicking on the status tab.

Yes, in the CE box ( or downloaded version ) there's a CE serial key . When you add the CE key to your Aion account the normal version is upgraded to the CE version.

Thanks for the tip I won't clog up this thread with any more "my file is bigger than yours" junk (lol ), but I'm on vent with some friends having a chat about it. So far as we can tell, all of us that downloaded the EU client have the 14.5Gb (apart from one guy...weird), but the ones who downloaded the EU files have the 8Gb. I'm off to have a glass of wine...that'll fix it
