The reasons for me is that, i have played wow too long and i need something new.
Aion has a very intresting lore just like wow or any another mmo. blizzard didn't care much about their players, i play as a druid and when i tell you that after two expansion we druids still use the same model you can understand the frustration , and not only druids that had problems, all the classes have problems. i just can play a game with every patch a class get nerf that too much. but the answer to the thread is simple, every new mmo is a threat to the old onces. |

while i'd like more non-wow players to play this, anything that hacks at the knees of the broken game giant works for me.
maybe it'll get their attention to actually fix their product... >< __________________ "Hey everybody look at me! I'm Seto Kaiba, I have a dragon fetish, and i sound like Brock from Pokemon. Screw the rules, i'm in love with Nurse Joy!"

It's so ironic you mention the druid models... Did you miss the fact that they have recently been remodeled and look (if I may say) quite dashing? Last edited by Shanni; 07-01-2009 at 06:00 PM.. Reason: link added |

The only thing WoW has going against it is people have been playing it too long. Its natural to get bored of something you have spent years playing. I've been raiding in Warcraft almost 3 years and finally its gotten to the point where you think enough is enough and you need a change. I might have some problems with the way they're taking the game now and decided to stop playing, but while I am tired of it someone else is just now picking up the box thinking it's the best game ever created. WoW isn't going anywhere and hopefully Aion can enjoy just as much success.

People who eat McDonalds usually pick up some Burger King the next day ;]
I agree that WoW is so successful because it is in fact so accessible. People today are looking for an easy escape from their real lives into fantasy, WoW is right there to offer their virtual realm. One thing that Blizzard has done extremly well with the Warcraft francize has been its crazy onslaught of advertisments. It seems like everyone and their mother has either tried WoW or atleast knows what WoW is. I believe that Aion could have this kind of success too if NC Soft plays it right. Aion encapsulates a very specific struggle that all humanity can relate to, the balance between good and evil (the award for best Christian game of the year goes to!!!...). If NC Soft comes out with even ONE great commerical into mainstream television with this kind of motif, Aion sales will go up like a divorcees **** at a strip club. I think we can all agree that gamers are for the most part, easily captivated. If you don't believe me, ask yourself why your reading this forum right now. __________________ ![]() Signature by Jessu. Sexy by Saiba. Last edited by Saiba Starr; 07-01-2009 at 06:14 PM.. |
