Does Aion hold its polish all the way through?

So i notice that Aion does not have very many zones...I really enjoy the amount of subzones however. I feel like every quest hub looks completely different, and each one is worth around a level. I have never seen an attempt to change up the scenery this much in any mmo. I am wondering if this will remain the same until 50....

Also, i notice that a TON of work went into the first 10 levels or so. The art, music, mobs, and quests are all very nice. Can anyone with experience in the chinese say if Aion retains this high level of polish all the way through?

I noticed warhammers starting zones were pretty well done too ( not nearly as much as this, mind you), but the rest of the game was pretty awful.

From what I've read it sounds like earlier content may be more well rounded than the late game.

One thing to keep in mind however, is the real nuts and bolts of the game play. Is it fun to play or just fun to see new areas?

I believe people still mash away at Diablo 2 because something about the gameplay is inherently fun, so I'd try to ask yourself what you really like about the game. Do you like the basic controls, the way your character looks, the game world and it's art style?

There will no doubt be improvements in all areas of the game if it is given time to develop, but no matter how hard the development team works they'll never be able to release content faster than players can experience it.

With 1.0, Aion is a polished experience from 1 to 40, has decent PvP content and weak PvE content.
With 1.2, Aion is a polished experience from 1 to 45, has good PvP content and decent PvE content
With 1.5, Aion is an ultra polished experience from 1 to 50 and has a lot of PvE and PvP end game content.

We are getting 1.5 at release in September. Rejoice!

Id say for the average gamer there is plenty to do with Aion as it stands right now. Im sure once the game goes live there will be enough content there to keep the standard player busy for many months maybe even years.

There will always be people who complain that something is not working, or that there is lack of content at higher levels, but usually those people make up a minority of the population, and are considered more on the hard core side. That being said if they really are hard core then chances are they will stick around and just wait for every other average player to catch up and then the content will come.

I really wish we could experience patch 1.5 before release. Beta testing lesser patches just means frustration for the people that don't see that much in Aion.

No, it really isn't. That list you showed has 18 zones on it. 3 of them are shared by both factions. The rest aren't. Sure you can go there, but there isn't any real reason to aside from random PvP. No quests, etc... That leaves roughly 10 zones you'll see. Which, no, isn't enough. People like a huge world to explore. Different options for question. From what I've read, even latest versions of Aion don't have that. It's a straight line moving from zone to zone. You don't have an option of which zone you want to choose. I've only made it up to 14 on this beta, and so far it is following that.

The successful MMO, that's hated and not mentioned on these forums, launched with 39 zones. Not including instances. Over twice as many zones. Just about at any time during the leveling process, you had a choice of multiple zones to level in. Questing at a steady pace, you could make multiple characters, and still not see all the zones\quests. The world is large part of what made it as successful as it was right from the beginning.

The limitation of the game world is what I really feel will stop Aion from being successful as it has the potential to be. Which is sad, I'd really love to see Aion flourish when it gets released in NA\EU, and secure a large number of subscriptions.

To be honest, i don't give a rats *** what other mmos launched with.... This is Aion, not random MMO #3. The number of zones has absolutely nothing to do with how well the game is and how succesful it will be.

You're entitled to your own opinion, but that statement is just straight up incorrect. "The number of zones" (game world), has a large impact on a game, and how successful it could be. You could replace "The number of zones" with anything and put it in your statement.

PvP has absolutely nothing to do with how well the game is and how succesful it will be.

End game content has absolutely nothing to do with how well the game is and how succesful it will be.

Class balance has absolutely nothing to do with how well the game is and how succesful it will be.

Just because you don't care about the game world, and how many zones it has, doesn't mean it isn't important, and won't directly effect how successful a game is. Because guess what. It will.

So.. lets say...

A MMO launches with 1 zone thats 1000000km2.. This means that its gonna fail? - NO.

Its all about the content in the zone, not the number of zones.
