Almost all mmropg's charge a monthly fee of around $15 a month... so more than likely i see being a reality... like stated prevously.. you will prob be able to use a l2/cov/coh time card.

As for those of you thinking you wont pay monthly, think again. Aion is just like L2 completely interactive which in turn means that it will have a monthly fee and consideirng the graphics, it could very well be $20 a month, and worth it. But NCSofts normal going rate is $15 a month. As for those of you concerned with updates, another thing NCSoft is good for is making chronicles ie updates the first Aion Chronicle guaranteed is probably "Tower of Eternity" The next chronicle will either be darker or lighter or more playful. As for Guild Wars its a good game for people who don't, won't or can't dish out the cash monthly. Drama is fairly low, theres a great deal of constant PvP or RP for those of you who enojy it. But Aion will NOT in anyway be like Guild Wars reguarding payments. |

I really don't know whether this game should have a monthly fee or not. I mean I would play it if it can be bought like guild wars but if it's like WoW then no. I'm not sure at all...I guess it depends on how good the game looks and how entertaining it is to determine whether I pay monthly or play free or play at all. Geez...that was alot...I hope most of that made sense.lol

Good games should be pay to play otherwise its hard to keep them running. I know guild wars managed it but thats a reason its all instanced and customization is limited. If the game didnt have a monthly fee id wonder whats wrong with it.

Alot of older MMOs these days seem rather desperate to just keep the numbers, possibly so the paying players dont see a lapse in numbers.
I know Anarchy Online now gives away free accounts, however they ruined that game with the Alien Invasion explansion. Planetside has given away a year free with a limit on the level you can gain. However level is not important in Planetside its your FPS skill that is. Im sure others have free trails these days too. It might be marketing to increase player thresholds for paying customers or it might be a way to see if people will buy the game after, I know im going to pay for a small subscription to planetside when it runs out in March. So it may have worked. I think it was probably right suggested that the response was something like $60 for the Game and 2months trial. I hope game updates are all inclusive. Anarchy Online made you pay to play and you had to shell out for thier updates I think that was shooting themselves in the foot. |

Trial's should be available for any MMO if you ask me, so that you can try a game first and see if you like it or not.
Most trials grant like 1-2 weeks of play wich is more then enough to get a good or bad feel of the game, and I don't see a downside to giving out trials. As for payment I'm not too pricky on the cash though there is a limit to what you can fairly charge monthly, atleast if you want subscribers. Like 15$ is fair and square, in my opinion. __________________ People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define Reality. Yes concidering the fact that world of warcraft is € 26,99 / 2 months and is the biggest and best game present, then you'll gues the fee of Aion would be around that price or lower.

I would pay something in a range of 7 to 20 euro's a month depending on how much i like the game. So i hope i can get into the beta test , give it a spin and then we'll talk prices
![]() But it's true that this game wont be like guild wars , in fact it can't It looks to good and frankly giving it out without a montly fee would be crazy , they need to live to so , i mean the fees on L2 were doable , even for a poor student as myself so for anyone who's got a job it sure is doable. |
