You HAVE to grind in order to level up properly, the trick is to do it while questing.
E.g when your in an Area where you need to kill wolves dont leave the bears alone and kill them too XD

In L2, there was a cave, in that cave were wolves and you had to kill em 24/7 to lvl up XD

maybe I'm wrong but don't you get experience later on from killing other players?

In response to the OP I have to say at first, I was afraid of the same thing- that there weren't enough quests and I was going to have to grind a lot to level but after playing on the Chinese retail for a while I realized when there are quests you either:

-Spend 30 minutes running around for them and then get a crappy reward or terrible experience or
-You end up just grinding 20 or so mobs to get random drop/kill updates and then turn in the quest for crappy reward or experience.

If you ask me the second option is basically the same as grinding in most cases and the first is just a waste of time.
Now of course if there are quests I will do them just because but when I ran out, I found myself enjoying just killing mobs without a quest just as much because it seems like that is the way you earn most of your xp anyway. Plus once you hit 25 you are going to probably want to spend a lot of time in the abyss and that should keep you busy enough

Anyway this is all a matter of opinion but I would say in the future its possible your opinion on the quest matter will change.

While you're doing your quests, kill everything in your path. That way you will be gaining exp while doing quests and getting exp from quests. You won't ever run out of quests that way.

Guys, quests are just a different kind of grind only instead of being able to stay in the same spot and relax you have to run all over the map.

grind is better than questgrind any day.

Sheesh in this game grinding is nothing like FF11, I never played L2 which i am guessing was as much if not more of a grindfest then Final fantasy11.

I am use to having to find an entire party to go and grind mobs for hours it was awful.

Great game otherwise and I am glad to here that FF11 has influenced it a bit

people still expect all quest to be from the main town, you have to explore and fine quest from other places and npcs around the areas.

Its all subjective. I like "questgrind" as i like a good story and enjoy getting to know the npcs and characters you meet. I don't like move to mob->kill mob->move to next mob->kill mob etc etc. I know that's essentially what im doing, but if ive been sent on an errand (find this or collect that) it feels like i have purpose...

ive been too busy getting each class to level 10 to see what i think to go to 20..

since we cant hit the abyss or anything yet i didnt really see the point of goin all the way to 20 for nothing when i can spend the time testing out classes.

but...

ive actually found it VERY helpful to kill stuff all along the way from one quest to the other rather than running past everything along the road... mobs in this game give a rediculous amount of xp, so the kills here and there along the way have been doin a world of good...

not sure this helps with the issue of whether or not there are "enough quests", but with the rediculous amount of mob xp available "as you go" it seems fairly balanced without having to "grind"

on retail hopefully i'll be able to find a grinding friend to grind with i guess, or else i'm gonna get bored of this game quick.
Quests - Aion

25 quests between 11 and 14.

Will take you from Altguard all the way through to the Mosbears without 1 second of grinding.

It's really not hard to find, either. City has two entrances, one is filled with level 16-18, one is filled with level 11+.

I must say I haven't come across a shortage of quests yet, 14.5 now and I haven't stopped questing.

I am 19 and a bubble, and have something like 13 quests left. I have never once had to grind. Some quests like the Krall quests are group only, but we ended up 5 maning it, and 4 maned it for a while due to a DC. At 18 I was getting 10K per kill (elites not trash mobs) and needed 50 krall tokens. You do the math.

People need to look a bit more for quests. There are a ton outside of towns, including the repeatable ones like the goofy torg. There are more than enough quests to level to 20 without any bit of grinding, you just have to stop being anti-social and GROUP UP.
