Faction Balance

Anyone seen any numbers on how they balance out? Ive heard some game (dont recall which) had it set up to where you could only roll a toon on one faction or another depending on which faction was lighter in numbers. Either roll what you were allowed or if you didnt want what was offered find a server that your preferred faction wasnt heavy on. Any one heard of anyting like that with Aion?

WAR tried it but somehow the faction balance was still messed up.

No they never tried it. Played the game from early beta till last week. Never seen a thing.

I think Daoc tried it, im not sure.

Of course they did, i still remember a lockdown of Destruction when i tried to make a Sorc.

Wait what? Were you high? The only thing they did was give a +20% bonus on xp/renown for the underpop realm, nothing else.

DAoC had bonuses for low populated realms (real nice ones). But balance always shifted depending on what people felt like playing and who had what relics :P It was never that big of an issue though since you had 3 realms.

Thats dangerous to tell a user which server to play on due to a choice in race. By offering a preference.

There was a faction lock down atleast in the first days of the release, hell i couldn't have dreamed about it. I tried to make a sorc on a high pop server and the system spouted something about "This faction is currently overpopulated please try again later" or something around those lines.

Then i made a BW and was going on a nerdrage with DoT's.
