Any hoo, I can vouch for NCsofts lack of interest in regulating botters. My solution is for NC to actually enforce anti botting, and allow the policing by players who identify botters. If players were allowed to continually attack and harass botters it would make it extremely hard for them to bot successfully. At least giving the economy some balance. Reminds me of a time I pk'd a bot and a GM actually brought a character in game to attack me. I had a screen shot but I have since lost it some time ago. It was like they were actually protecting them at one point. |

Yes, maybe not runing instances but for sure thare are bots farming some spots. They are just hard to notice cause in wow you change zones really often (fast lvling ton of quests etc) and not so painfull (they don't gang up into guilds that take full chunk of content just for themselfs etc)

There are typical "farm" Bots but they are very few and far between. There is a group of "gold farmers" who basically just farm 24/7. You always see them in the same area but that is about the extent of the botting. It was never really a problem. |

hmm well small bots like that arent a huge problem, in my time on wow i never saw them or RMT as a huge problem...but in L2 you cant do anything without ebaying..you can never expect to get top gear unless someone gives it to you.
Go to any town and you see trains of 9 bots that look rediculous following each other around, they farm all the best exp spots...a lot of the bot trains now have like a lvl 80 dagger that is actually played to guard them and kill anyone that tries to kill them. ALL the raid bosses have bot parties logged out at them, as soon as the raid spawns, the bots log in, kill it, log off...its rediculous, and if aion got even half as bad as that i wouldnt play it |

Btw, I forgot to ask.
Does any one else think that maybe NCsoft is/was actually facilitating botting? I mean, actually playing a part in the business? How hard would it be for NCsoft to monopolize the botting "industry". How much of an increase in profits would they stand to make running bots? Given the history of NCsoft, paypal & eBay, I wouldn't be surprised if it was all one big organized system to generate more revenue for these companies. They have all been guilty of corruption at one point or another IMHO. Like many have already said, the fact of the matter is that NCsoft has the ability to control botting. If they really want to prohibit it than they have every ability to do so. The question is what they value more, the players overall experience? or their bottom line. One can only hope... |

already been discussed many times...
they promoted botting on retail, simply because they thought it would make them more money...l2 delined by like 75% population, ncsofts stock declined, WoW had a huge success and NCSoft made a huge mistake. We can only hope they value player satisfaction with Aion, because even if there are less players off the start, those players will continue to keep playing. |

I definitely feel like Blizzard made some big steps in discouraging botting in WoW, 1 is to make items soulbound- cant trade it? cant sell it. done.
Also, the game is not as gear based as Lineage 2, not to say that better gear won't help you out, but gear is SO varied and drops on a regular basis and there's tons of quests for you to get gear from. Lineage 2 gear becomes very ver hard to acquire fairly quickly. If NC's smart and takes the best of L2 and the best of WoW and somehow manages to combine them, while adding in some new features at the same time it could be really amazing. __________________ http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...on/newsig3.gif 79 Spectral Dancer|77 Sagittarius|63 Warlock |

every economy needs a money sink...i think its just stupid that in WoW's it goes to NPC's, it would be better if people with blacksmith training could repai gear for u

Nah, I think it's good for them. Repairing is the biggest money sink in WoW. Gear is largely quested and instances for, crafting materials are largely farmed for, if there wasn't any repair costs, there really would be very little reason for any player to farm gold. Mind you, this is coming from our guild's main tank, who had between a 20-50 gold repair bill after every raid.
Still, I think that Aion already looks like it has plenty of money sinks as is. I'm with all you guys though, I really really hope they manage to take away some of the absurd botting from Aion. In WoW, what botting and gold selling there was totally didn't bother me, but if things in L2 were as you guys have said they are, it'd be really terrible if it followed into Aion. |

you could have some fun with them too
, aside from PKing them, they automatically picked up stuff, so you could make an adena trail dropping 1 adena (currency) on the ground, and let the trail go off a cliff, and watch them (or the leader) fall off the cliff.Or you could drop some adena on a rock nearby and watch them try pick it up over and over even though they cant reach it |

![]() And 20-50 gold per raid? Wow @_@ Does the Guild help cover it for him? In FFXI we used to pay for the most expensive arrows/bullets for our Rangers, etc for big events where they'd spend 100k+ and it really was nice, because you want your people at maximum performance 100% of the time and you get quite a Linkshell Fund after a weekend of successful HNM farming (30-50mil). We also paid out to members, it was great giving people 2-3mil every week or more which was a ton in FFXI; you could really use it for crafting as I did, leveling your next character without worrying about money, etc. Anyway I'm not too worried about Bots/Goldfarmers in Aion, in FFXI it was bad for awhile with some lv75 gilfarmers who monopolized a few crafting materials from one NM, and did once claim a King Behemoth (they lost since they only had 6 of em), which was annoying, but FFXI figured it out sooner or later. The only bots in FFXI really were speedhacking and the teleport hack, but I banned them from use obviously in our LS |
