Ok but it'll also kick people who are afk selling? Or gone for an hour to do something IRL but need to stay logged in?

And if you're in the middle of a big long boss fight, and it pops for everyone, people might be too occupied and busy doing their job and not notice the code.

FFXI was the only game I've seen that let people set up personal shops while afk in town. I dunno, I didn't read Gravity's first thread about this... it was way too colorful and hurt my eyes, but I wouldn't mind something like this. Honestly, it's a small price to pay for greatly reducing the risk of economy over inflation.

Ragnarok Online's server economy was based solely on people afk selling. And weren't all of the AFK shops just outside of Jeuno, not actually inside it?

Oh my server, all the afk shops were right next to the auction house in Jeuno.

Anyways, yeah, I've played PSO, Shadowbane, FFXI, WoW, and PSU... been playing for 8 years, and only saw afk player shops in FFXI.

Games today (F2Ps) such as 2moons, Cabal, Rohan, and many others, revolve around player shops, since they don't have an AH. It's a shame, the AH is amazing

Ah, that makes sense I suppose. I've never really played a F2P game besides Holic (which I tried for 2 days before deciding it wasn't as good as Aion).

Anyways, if they end up having some kind of auction house system in Aion, it means that perhaps player shops wont really be needed, and they can set up the anti bot protection plans and such.

It already would be fine if that window would pop up at start after you logged in!

It would prevent people from speedhacking. I know that speedhackers get disconnect with the server because auf the desyncs and their auto login bots that can login in 0,01 second ( xD ) just fail at this position.

And i really would love this! Noone would be annoyed... you dont login 20 Times per hour... And it would not kick out afk people...
I go eat and i don't close the game... I don't want to be kicked out...

It's a good system, I think it was implemented in Tales Of Pirates? Or maybe it was it's counterpart, Pirate King Online.. Anyway - I think they implemented it just after i left a year ago, logged in a few times since and the servers were busier than ever - and it's not really annoying either..

You get like 5 minutes or so to enter in the characters, meaning if you're in the middle of a fight you have time to get to somewhere fairly safe to type out the characters.. The only problem occurs with afk shops - but that's eliminated with an Auction House.

Edit:: Since someone ninja'd a post about guild wars in before my post was finished, just to clarify i'm talking about the "Enter 3 characters" system.

Not just out side but inside 2 and also in other citys out side og house i loved this i hate the fact now most other game's ive tryed kick you after a time limt,with out the choice to turn the limt off

with the image thing seems ok but ture big boss fight and evey one get it spamed on there screen could cause a wipe and stuff how bout they just teleport you like in ffxi they port you to some where if ur still preforming the action they know ur botting

I.E say ur useing a fishing bout they move you to some where EG there jail or some where with no water yet your guy/girl is still trying to use his fishing rod


IMO i hope they have bazzar selling in this was nice got some crazy deals in bazzar and also people makeing mistake lableing stuff for 1.4 mil instade of 14mil and then reselling lol

Also ban them from useing Ah and mail System if theres one put in to aion FTW no mail spame or any thing else

I don't think that kind of anti bot protection (typing few leters from picture) would prevent goldfarming and botting in Aion.

Sure it woud probably scare of average Joe the botter, who runs it while he is at work or sleeps, but those guys aren't real core of the problem right?

Big gold farming companies hire reall ppl to do farming so for every few bots or bot parties there is allways some reall person controling them. In witch case that kind of protection wouldn't work at all, cause person controling bots could just type leters for all the runing clients.

On the other hand, blocking certain ips (that are know to belong to big rmt companies) and proxies seem to be good idea.

I don't know dude, what Calindor mentions opens a lot of ground for debate, although, personally I wouldn't consider buying in-game currency in-game a form of "cheating" and even less, "cheating people" in-game.
I'm not saying buying currency is a good thing to do since it is performed by shady RMT companies, but they (RMT's) are getting the currency from the game, it's not counterfeit or illegal.

Someone mentioned that RMT's tend to destroy an MMO economy, but I beg to differ, the ones who actually destroy the game's economy it's us, the greedy players, who want to make a profit on everything we do, so we tend to overprice everything, thus, inflating the whole economy.
RMT's in the other side, don't have the time to wait until their goods are sold in the AH or in personal Bazzars, they need the money now, and they have to get rid of their camped items.
They will sell these for actually a lower price than the legit players, way lower, then rinse, and repeat the NM camping.

I leave this open for debate since it would be very interesting to read what's everyone's point of view. But please, stay away from pointing fingers, it will lead nowhere.
