I just assume that everyone on the internet is a genderless entity. As should everyone. There is no reason you should treat anyone differently based on gender. Granted, everyone does subconsciously, but in the meantime, abide by either the aforementioned rule, or "Male until proven female."

Voice communication is a crutch and a serious guild would ditch it. I understand some people enjoy just chatting, thats fine. But for coordination nothing beats instantaneous communication by just knowing whats going on be seeing how everyone around you is acting and moving, and being able to know when the entire approach has switched not because someone said so, but because everyone else just 'knows' too.

A good team works like a single entity. And only crazy entities talk to themselves.
This is true to a point, but nowhere near the extent you are promoting it.

I run with people in rvr all day. We are basically the same set group and we know eachother's roles perfectly. Does this mean we do not need vent? No, because there is always something that can come up, or something unexpected when you are playing against other players. You should never throw away an edge you can get in a fight and voice comm is just too handy not to use.

Most of my female friends tend to play as males in-game. I'm male and tend to play female in most MMORPGs I play, mostly because all the males look ugly. This is one of the only games where I actually play males regularly, because they actually look bearable, and in some cases better than the females.

My character is first and foremost will always be a male. So are my sisters character's in games. I'm fine with playing female characters as I'm a console gamers and some great games out there your forced to play female characters and vice versa for females playing male.

So second or third characters are usually female. I like to see both perspectives and that's about it. No it's not about looking at a the back of a female. I played many games where i have to sit here and look at the back of a guy. Just for the fun of it.

As it should be. On the internet we are free from the confines of our corporeal identity! We can be anything we want to be. We are just a name, a pseudonym. It can change. I could be everyone else on this forum but you for all you know!

Anonymity lets us be free to express ourselves as we see fit.

I want to be pretty

And so I was!

Prob true. At least my straight friends say so...and there's nothing wrong with that.

I like to play males for the same reason...I'd rather stare at beefcake when playing. The beefier the better. Just too bad we don't get a crotch slider the way female toons get a chest slider...male toons in all MMOs look castrated.

Roleplayer losers hate females in this game because their armor is "too flimsy"...lots of the girls want a female char that looks like she can take some damage, not a playboy bunny, but guess what? No ones gives two shits about you, we want booooobs, more booooobs and some aaasssssssssssssssssss.

And so I was! Treat me as such, don't treat me based on what gender I may or may not be!

Perhaps it could be an advantage if the group was already working together perfectly. It would take years of dedicated practice to really know someone that well though.

Since experience helps you grow, the only argument i could see for voice communication was if you were participating in some sort of tournament and the night out fighting was more than just a chance to improve your cohesion but actually for something important.

Oh dear lord, I can see it now... Equal rights movements pushing for "crotch sliders" in every game that also offers "bewb sliders".

I have played exclusively female characters ever since my brief stint in WoW where I happened to roll a female undead simply because I didn't like the male animations. I was greatly amused when this guy got a crush on my character and started sending me presents. Hasn't happened in any other game yet but I figure its worth it on the off chance some deluded looser happens to see me.

EDIT: I should point out that I am male.
