I support crotch sliders. Im all for sensible character customization.
My female gladiators armor looks pretty armor like, it almost covers her entierly. Infact i was going to try a mage but i appreciated how well the fully armored female looked that i decided other armor types can screw themselves, im going to be armored battle woman! |

back in l2 i played a female sorc named asmina. all the guys would hit on me and want me to be their e gf until we got in vent and in my deepest voice i'd say "hey baby this is asmina, wanna cyber cyber now?"
big rofls everytime. XD i assume everyone on the net is a guy until i talk to them on the phone or in vent and even then sometimes i am suspicious. __________________ QAPLAH!

I usually play a mix but for this past beta, yea all 3 chars I rolled were female. And yes, typical response, if I'm going to stare at this character for hours on end I would rather stare at a female
![]() Not to mention the added bonus of being able to drop the hammer on that random person that pm's you for some sad cyber action when I tell them I'm a dude. Seriously, it's priceless ![]() |

I think the same way! Back to the topic, I play both sexes - whatever looks better for that race or class. In other games, I've predominantly played female characters, since the male characters looked rough and unpolished graphically. In contrast, I've found that I've actually ended up with more male characters than female characters in Aion.

I'm not sure but when I play a female it's cause I find males in that game.. off? I don't know they just seem either too bulky and not customizable enough. Usually playing a female fixes that for me but maybe females feel the same way and play male some times. I'll probably make a male gladiator 'cause early in with plate on a female I kinda felt like xena, or I did something wrong >_>
To sum it up, I think a big part involves if the game has wide enough customization to not feel awkward with your character, and how classes mix with gender. Last edited by Suff; 07-07-2009 at 07:45 PM.. |

I have actually met quite a few female gamers that play male characters. They usually say they want to be judged on how they can play... One of them liked to tank as an example and found if people through she was female.. they somehow thought she couldn't have game skills.
Personally I always played male chracters as I am male. When I finally did make a female character it was an assassin type in a pvp game. I have made female characters in other games because in general the male models are so fugly they are uglier than I am. Now I don't really want to play a fantasy game so I can be even uglier... Aion I have found I can make male characters I don't mind player. However, I'm sure at some point I will make a female ranger or assassin for whatever reason... (I don't really have one other than I think its funny). |

I'm female (No, not all of us are lying about that. Contrary to popular geek-boy opinions, there really are girls on the internet. I promise. XD) and I play a pretty even mix of male and female characters. That's been true of both on-line MMOs and old-school tabletop RPGs. In City of Heroes/Villains I currently have two male toons and two female. In Aion, one of each.
My first toon in an MMO will always be male, though. It's just easier that way... Besides, in a game like Aion... *grins* we girls get to have some nice eyecandy, too. |

When I was young, I played all male chars, feeling uneasy in a female avatar's shoes. (Im male)
Then I found Guildwars. And god damn, the women were so freaking hot in that game. I started GW with 4 males in my character slots. Now, 3 years later, I have 6 females and 2 males lol. Kinda been playing whatever sex I like the armor of the most since then. In the case of Elyos sorc, im def going with a female char. Also gonna make a female chanter and a male templar. EDIT: Dirtyklingon, Id +1 you again if I could, loled hard at that last post. Last edited by Freelancer604; 07-07-2009 at 07:51 PM.. |

WoW was big on having low level female alts and begging max levels for gold and what not figuring because males would be more helpful with a female, i usually told them to "fcuk off and quit begging" regardless of your gender.
The usually answer you get from guys that play females are the same. "I don't want to look at a guys butt well i play a video game." I know, kinda pathetic and very homophobic. Plus, im willing to bet alot of pedos use female char to talk to little boys. |

I think it's pretty even for males playing females and females playing males. The usual reasons behind it are:
(1) They want to stare at someone's backside that they classify as hot. (2) The armor they want to wear looks better on the other gender. lol (3) They want to trick others that play same gender characters into traps. xD I'm a guy by the way, and all that I intend on playing as are males. Well, at least, as of this point. The only thing I can say negatively about male characters is that they need to fix the Elyos Mage bottoms (or top... it's the piece that hangs down to the ground at their back). It looks pretty ridiculous while running... and annoyed the heck out of me while playing. >>; __________________ Bah... now Aionsource doesn't like my Japanese. =.=; [Start] Nakura - Asmodian Chanter Lvl.XX (Siel); Hahikou - Asmodian Sorcerer Lvl.XX (Siel) |
