Your House?

Guild houses with rooms for the members? (Eventually instanced?)
Let's say 10 small, but neat rooms for 3-4 members. They get a key from the guild house manager to open their specific (and only their) room. They also can decorate it as they wish (customization ftw), and so on.

Only thing is, alot of people, myself included dont like guild houses for a number of reasons. Only the guild master and his little friends get rooms. People are also then forced to join a guild if they want a room, and the problem with that, is most guild leaders are morons. Most guild leaders will only give rooms to those who kiss their butts the most. So no, I do NOT want guild housing unless there is individual ones as well.

If they make houses useful. Perhaps with crafting areas and storage i will grind my *** off for one. Otherwise it really won't be worth it.

I wonder why people want houses in a game like Aion, wouldn't you spend more time just killing stuff, exploring the world, and pvping? Why experience something that you can do at your own house irl? O.o

I guess I have the wrong idea of why Houses are cool, but a Guild base or castle should be enough to satisfy those who need homes within an online game. Otherwise a world littered with houses will only cause unnecessary lag.

At most they should at least make bunkers for guild bases so that people can have their e-sexy time with their pals and gals.

Guild plots.... A guild is assigned a plot of land somewhere floating off in the unknown with as many house slots as there are max members in the guild. Each person in the guild randomly gets assigned a plot in the base that they can build on and stuffs..... Then theres individual houses in an assigned area around or inside towns... That'd work, IMO, not like I need a house though, when I'm going to be running around and drooling at the beautiful landscape. =_=

Why do they have cooking games, can't you just cook IRL? Why do they have computer card games, can't you just play cards with real cards? Why is crafting and economy need to be a part of the game, why don't they just set it up like GW and have npc's do everything for you?

Because the game is not only PvP based, it's also trying to appeal to the 'RP' crowd as well, otherwise you're right they would not bother at all with housing, a good crafting system, many emotes for interaction and so forth. And by RP crowd I'm not just talking about those that talk in character, but people that enjoy living their character while in game, being immersed in the world and the story.

Let's take the houses out, the dancing, the other emotes and the ability to jump while we're at it. It's there because to some it's a fun thing to do and is part of other successful mmo's and proven to be a feature that people want.

Agreed, sometimes people forget about the beauty of landscapes in games because they get all caught up on PvP and who is better then who. Many times I would go and find a nice fishing spot in other MMOs and listen to music while I fished.

How boring would this game be if you couldn't even /emote

Nothing is better then when your dying you start dancing or laugh at other people. To stay on topic though, my house would be far away from everyone else with a nice sunrise/sunset on the edge of a cliff overlooking a valley. I must have a pond or lake that I can fish from too.

Well I think I have a answer to your question, In MMO's there is always down time. Time when people/friends arent online. I guess it gives you something to do until something comes up. Which I think could be a awesome idea if they do it right. Because its a Faction server im sure they will let you build your house on your side of the map where ever you want pretty much. Cool thing would be if they let you do upgrades on what your house looks like ectect, but then again it could get too technical.
