Do you think the Balaur, sorry if I spelled it wrong should be allow to capture and hold strategic points? I think so, think it will be great for the game personally. I hope their A.I. makes them seem like they are being Player Controlled and not just a bunch of lousy creatures standing around.
Also, what do you think they will look like. Think they will look half man/half dragon? __________________ Where there is light there is darkness. |

The capture/hold strategic points could be interesting if setup properly. From what I gather from the information is that the Balaur will be more hit and run type of pvp (they will pop up unexpectedly and then wreck you or someone else). I don't know how strategic points would work with that type of setting.
I also believe that in the Gstar 2007 video there is a scene where a female is fighting spiders when this gargoyle thing appears. I believe that the Balaur will look something similar to that (if that isn't indeed one). Maybe someone else has more info and could clear up my speculation. __________________ ![]() Let the rain fall...embrace the darkness...let the blood flow... ____________________________________________ Future member of the AAA (Aion Addicts Anonymous)! |

i think it would bring a wonderful addition to the strategic aspect of our lil PvPvE faction fighting mechanic. i agree that from what we've heard they seem hit and run. i would like to see them become a significant part of the world.

I dont know about the hit and run part... It sounds more to me like they are a large army of huge flying beasts that will just swarm over whoever it is they are going against. It sounds to me like the dragons would be all about brute power... not about hit and run... That would a little bit to tactical to me. No, i don't think they will hit and run... The dragons to me seem to much like 'All or nothing' kind of beings.

Cunning and complex AI tactics: Battles never become repetitive when you face Far Cry's unpredictable, intelligent AI mercenary units trained in advanced adaptive group tactics. Units include snipers, stalkers, scouts, and grenadiers who engage you from all angles, distances, and terrains in coordinated strikes. Commanders will even call for reinforcements by land, sea, or air.

From what I know Balaur's can:
-Help You -Help the opposite side -Attack both sides I haven't heard anything about them being able to keep a piece of land but if they attack both races and win I guess they should get exactly what a player would. |

It would be really cool if say, one Balaur kills a group of players and levels up a bit, then the next time someone fights that Balaur its smarter and stronger, making it just like a real player. They coud give the Balaur like exp points for kills, and with each level it unlocks a different AI component like dodging or maybe more speed or power.

Well I'm sure different areas will have different levels of Balaurs, but that would be cool if they customized them, so we know "Sterling" the lv80 dragon when he came down. And no hit and run, I think once they come down, we should have to completely fight them off, and then they can't come back for like an hour minimum. But I definitely think they should level just as us, and once we're capped, they still need to be a threat. Just a few dragons come down, and like 20-30 players have to work together to take em out.
I thought they already stated that Balaur will be included in the conquest, and can hold strategic points the same that Asmodians and Elyos can..it only makes sense..they need to be a threat too |

Thought I read the Balaur will also be fighting for control of these points. Could be wrong.

Yeah that's what I was saying, I'm 95% sure they will be..maybe more sure..Kind of pointless to make the Balaur if they are just for attacking hit and run style..make them an actual race or threat to players, not just an annoying feature

You don't know that, that's your opinion.
I disagree, they're there to compete, and to add a challenge to the game that no other game provides. If they dominate a weak group of players, gain enough conquest, and hold a conquest point for a few days, even a week, so what? It's not the end of the world, and players then have to fight to win the control back. |
